About gsvalentine

I am a 45-year-old guy, who lives in Melton Mowbray, in the East Midlands, England. I was born in Lancashire, England, during September 1979. Most people don’t believe me that I was born in England due to my strong Scottish accent. My star sign is Libra. I am 5’9” tall, 30″ waist, with blonde hair, which is sometimes short, sometimes long. I have light brown eyes. Which most people think are very sexy. I just don’t see it, myself.

Today I was working up north in Sheffield, helping teach first aid. It was nice to get have a wee look around from up there working, since up till now I had only ever seen it the place from a car or train window. The course not a good one today, it started at 11am, so leaning I did not have to get out of bed till just after 8am. And was back home just after 5:30pm. I was planning on going out a cycle when I had back home, but I changed my mind. Since I was way, way to tired, so I will need to make up for it tomorrow, just hope the weather is like it was today.

P.S. I hope that you are liking all these blog updates 🙂

The full statistics from the cycle are as followed: Time 2.28.30 (h:m:s). Average speed: 14 mph. Maximum speed: 34.6 mph. Total distance: 34.77 miles. Elevation Gain: 508 metres. Oh and sorry no photos from today’s cycle.

Total time 24:38:06 (h:m:s). Elevation Gain: 4,887 metres. Average speed: 14.8 mph. Maximum speed: 37.2 mph. So really hope that the weather stays like this good a while longer.

Wearing my Team Discovery cycling gear

It was so nice today, it was the first time this year, I have been out cycling in my sexy lycra shorts. I did the Bassingthorpe loop, which covers a distance of just over 24 miles.

Once back from the cycle, I had a much needed shower. Then got ready for my second night as bar supervisor, lucky tonight was not as busy as last night.

Then after work I went out for some drinks with Andy, since it’s his late night at the track for a good while, since he’s got a new job somewhere else.

Sorry that I have been so bad at updating my blog so far this year… No idea why just not been in the mood for doing it. Anyway here is today’s main news…

First of all some news on stuff that I am doing in May. In late May it’s my parents 40th wedding anniversary, so I am going to up Scotland from a number of days, to see them. Also the family is getting together to go out for a meal. So it will be Mum, Dad, my two bothers Craig and Douglas and their girlfriends. It will be a bit weird, with me being the only single one their, oh well. 40 years a hell of a long time, I still remember their 25th anniversary and thinking that was long time. So when the meal does happen, I will make sure I post a blog about it 🙂

So now onto the other main news of the day. I started my “new” job at the Peterborough Greyhound Stadium, as the restaurant bar supervisor. I say “new” like that I since I first did that job from last October 2007. to January 2008 ish. I only did it for that long since my boss at the time, then changed her mind and said the restaurant did not need a bar supervisor, so I went back to my old job as a bar man. Thing is since then, I have really been doing that job anyway, just not been getting paid for it. So it’s great to get the job back, still got no idea what my extra pay will be. I do really need to ask about that 🙂

I think my first night back being the bar supervisor went well. They could not have picked a busier evening for to start my new job. I am sure if, I did not do a good job of it, my boss would soon let me know!

Having a wee rest in some woods just off Risewood Lane

The main thing I did today, was to got for the longest cycle this year so far. I did 42.47 miles in 02:46.41 (HH:MM:SS), with a Average Speed of 15.3 mph and my max speed was 32.8 mph. It was also the longest cycle, since doing the End to End cycle, in August last year. Also check out my photos from 2010 to see some photos from the cycle.

Saturday – 27th March 2010

Today’s main news, is that I have now done just over 13,000 miles of cycling since, April 2003. So well pleased with myself, going to aim to get that up to at least, 14,500 before the year is out.

Monday – 22rd February 2010

I am well happy it looks like all my hard work I did on the End to End cycle website last week has paid off, it’s now listed in the top 7 search results of google, if you search for “end to end cycle“. Oh and lots of people have emailed me and asked, why I have been doing so much work to the End to End website, well that is easy, I am planning on doing the cycle again in 2011 or 2012. So I want one of the best End to End cycle website’s on the net, before that happens 🙂

Tuesday – 16th February 2010

I spend most of the day moving the End to End cycle website, to it’s own hosting space. Up till now it’s been hosting using hosting space on this website. Mean as meant the URL’s for the website have not been the most. The main URL was www.endtoend-cycle.co.uk, then any sub page had to have www.gordon-valentine.com/endowed/ in them. Meant that trying to get filled on the first page on google, when search for “end to end cycle” just did not happen. It was showing up on something like page 4.

Now I am sure, I will get it listed on page one, with of course my aim being to get it listed in at least the first 5 search results. I am more then sure I can do it 🙂

In other End to End cycle website news, I also added a new photo gallery system, so you can now view the photos in a slideshow, even better if you have Cooliris installed, you can view the photos in a 3D Wall which is well cool! To try it out goto www.endtoend-cycle.com/photos/ then click on “[View with PicLens]”. You will need to have the Cooliris addon installed, which works with Google Chrome, Firefox and IE.
