Freddie Flintoff, Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris set out to find interesting old cars for new drivers, then put them to the test on a road trip through Devon and Cornwall. Chris also drives the original supercar, Lamborghini’s legendary Miura.

Crowds heading to the TRNSMT music festival hit the concourse and one young staff member with a new customer service supervisory role is thrown in at the deep end. Meanwhile, tour guide Jackie and the maintenance team investigate a watery mystery in the station’s basements, and author Judith Vallely tells the story of how Suffragettes descended on Central Station in 1914 to trying to stop their leader Emmeline Pankhurst being sent back to London – and jail.

Villages by the Sea (BBC 2/HD | 7:00pm to 7:30pm | Monday 13th December 2021)

Archaeologist Ben Robinson visits Alnmouth, Northumberland, which was founded in the mid-12th century after the barons of nearby Alnwick obtained a charter from King John to build a new village. It had a market and a small port and the village flourished – so much so that by the mid-1700s, Alnmouth’s grain export started to play an integral role in feeding the growing English population.

Great British Landmark Fixers (Yesterday | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Monday 13th December 2021)

Salt water and iron don’t mix and Southend Pier, built back in 1888, has seen better days. Now a team of specialists are working hard to prevent it falling into the sea.

Hornby: A Model World (Yesterday | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Monday 13th December 2021)

The Scalextric team attempt to tap into the brand’s glory years, the 1980s, and devise a plan to create a model of a classic supercar, the Lamborghini Countach.

The Thames By Night (Channel 5/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Friday 17th December 2021)

The presenter is on the West London stretch of the Thames, and here he discovers how night-shift workers contend with the river’s tides. Tony joins the fire service based at Lambeth, who deal with emergencies on the river, as they practice rescuing a body from the freezing waters in the pitch black.
