On This Day : 08/09/2015

On This Day back in 2015. I had great fun walking up Ben Lomond, along with my mate Neil. The Ben has an elevation of 974 metres (3,196 ft).

At the time, it was my second time, I had climbed it! Since, then I’ve done it again! Which happened to be this year!

Here are some photos from that amazing day!

Ted’s railway station list : 25/08/2024

Here is the very short list of railway station’s that Ted has used so far.

  • Bottesford
  • Grantham

This list will grow a lot over the next week or so. When he goes all the way up to Scotland! Of course, he’s also going up with Bugsy! It will be there first holiday together!

English Heritage list : updated 21-06-2024

That’s me just updated the list of English Heritage sites that I’ve visited.

I’ve added the following:-

  • Brodsworth Hall and Gardens, Brodsworth, South Yorkshire
  • Gainsborough Old Hall, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire
  • Lincoln Medieval Bishops’ Palace, Lincoln, Lincolnshire

Lincoln Castle and Victorian Prison

While in Lincoln, it would rude not to go and have a look around both Lincoln Castle and the Victorian Prison!

I always love looking around a old prison! Always hope that someone, will lock me side of the prison cells! Just for a number of hours! Something, very HOT about that idea!

Worksop railway station, double tick!

When, I went to Worksop railway station On Tuesday. I was sure, I had used the railway station before. When, I checked my list later on that day, it turned out. I had never used it before.

But has luck had it, my older bother, Douglas and myself had to use it again today. So go back to Lincoln. Since we wanted to visit the Castle.

So, this time around, I made sure I took more photos!

Go Ape Aberfoyle, double tick!

WOW! Julie W and myself had so much fun doing Go Ape at Aberfoyle. With a colossal 323-metre zip thrill before you’ve even tackled the high-rise challenges. Your reward? A whopping 45-metre-high, 426-metre-long flight back down to earth.

Even in the rain, we both had so much fun!! Check it out at www.strava.com/activities/11471041990

Oh and why, the double tick. That’s since, I’ve done it before. All the way back in July 2008!

We went to the Rest and Be Thankful

The view of Glen Croe viewed from Rest and be thankful viewpoint, has to my one favourite views from just about any road in the whole of Scotland!

I loved showing my work Wife, why I love it so much!

Ben Lomond, tick! For the third time!

WOW! That’s me now walked up Ben Lomond for the third time in my life! I’ve walked up in it my 20s, 30s, and now done it again in my 40s… Guess I need to do it again in my 50s, 60s and maybe even my 70s…

This time around, I did it with my work wife Julie. I couldn’t be more pride of her. We both did it! The weather had the top, was the best! We didn’t get a view at all! But we did not care, we made it to the top and back down again!
