Distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS attack)

It appears someone is determined to take my off-line. I have been getting lots of hits to DDoS level. So after being on-line since 1996, when I was only 16. It’s looking like I am going to have pull the plug on this website. It’s not something I really want to do. It’s been a big part of my life for so long. Just even typing this is hard. But I just don’t have the money for all the extra bandwidth it’s costing me.

So at the end of this month. I think I am going to have to pull the plug and close the website down!!

    1. Just this one. But than this website has always been my main love. So think the other website, would no doubt follow soon.

  1. I just can’t believe it. Ever since I discovered one of your vlogs – quite by accident – your website has been one of the bright spots in my life. No joking. I’ve enjoyed it so much! I’m really, really sad……and sad for you, too. I know how much it means to you. Rotten news! 🙁

  2. this is really bad news, you must be gutted by this appaling situation. i hope you can find another affoirdable way to express yourself. good luck and thanks, its been great fun.

I’m shocked to hear you plan to shut GSV down. Very shocked indeed, so much show, I just shed a couple of tears.

How will we keep up to date with your cycling exploits?

I’m very saddened to hear this and wish things like that didn’t occur, but it seems a shame that you’ve chosen to do this, just down to DDoS incidents. For all the effort you’ve put into this site, it would be such a shame to just give it all up.

This website is a massive part of my life, much less than your’s G. There is not a day that goes by where I don’t drop by and check something out. To see this go, would mean a part of me goes with it.

It was a pleasure to come across this website all that time ago, quite by accident actually. I still remember the first photo I saw.

If I may do so, can I beg for you to reconsider? *hugs*

  4. BlondGuppy says: “To see this go would mean a part of me goes with it.” It says it all.

  5. It is your hosting provider’s responsibility to protect against DDOS attacks… that’s one of the things you pay them for.

Other hosting providers are available – I think I pinged you one on Facebook, but for reference, Just Host have been doing very nicely for me for the last 4 or 5 years – http://bit.ly/lmjusthost – last package I bought was £90 for 4 years UNLIMITED traffic and storage – pricing may have increased a bit since then.
