Watch God’s Own Country…

I’ve just got aound to watching God’s Own Country at long last. Got to say, it’s one of best LGBT+ films, I’ve EVER seen! Need to pull myself together now. Yep, I was crying my eyes out at the end of it!

It’s now right up there with Beautiful Thing, of LGBT+ films, that you have to watch!

UK TV programmes to watch this week : 26/01/2019

Call the Midwife (BBC 1/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Sunday 27th January 2019)

Drama about a group of midwives in 1960s London. Valerie helps a struggling mother accept her son’s birth defect. The Turners oversee a measles vaccination trial at the clinic as the team prepare for the Whitsun bank holiday.

Fish Town (BBC 1 Scotland/HD & BBC iPlayer only | Monday 28th January 2019)

James Cosmo narrates a six-part series about the UK’s biggest fishing port, Peterhead in north east Scotland. The fishing boat Zenith sets out from Fraserburgh – 20 miles away from Peterhead – in search of whitefish and prawns. At the helm is 26-year-old skipper Adam Robertson. He starts fishing 40 miles out to sea, but his net fills up with mud from the seabed which means he has to haul in early. The Peterhead boat Amity is on its way to a fishing ground near the Shetland Isles when it runs into trouble. Something is tangled in the propeller. As night falls, skipper Phil Reid puts a waterproof camera over the side to try to work out what is causing the problem, but it is too dark to see. Back on land, a 300-tonne trawler comes into Peterhead port for a paint job. It goes onto the harbour’s ship lift and is hoisted out of the water – one of the port’s most impressive sights. Local boat painters then have just six days to get it cleaned, painted, and back into the water.

Silent Witness (BBC 1/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Monday 28th January 2019)

A shocking incident on a suburban street brings back painful memories for Jack, forcing him to revisit his past. As a member of the victim’s family seeks justice of their own, forensic evidence discovered by the Lyell team suggests the involvement of a Northern Irish terror group, long thought inactive.

Chris Tarrant: Extreme Railway Journeys (Channel 5/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Monday 28th January 2019)

Chris Tarrant travels the entire one thousand miles of the Reunification Line – from Ho Chi Minh City in the south to Hanoi in the north. He visits key locations from the Vietnam War including the famous Viet Cong tunnels.

Silent Witness (BBC 1/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Tuesday 29th January 2019)

During the team’s search for the killer, Jack works alongside an old friend from Northern Ireland, a fearless journalist who has dedicated her life to exposing the suspected organisation. As the team investigate further, they realise they have uncovered a complex conflict sustained by ties of loyalty, family and retribution.

Death in Paradise (BBC 1/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Thursday 31st January 2019)

Jack and the team must navigate the tempestuous waters of a family divided when a wealthy coffee magnate is shot, but can they find the truth beneath the lies?

Celebrity 5 Go Camping (Channel 5/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Friday 1st February 2019)

The gang create a meal using local ingredients, including beer, beef and fresh lobster. Cheryl walks to the highest point on the island and Tim takes to the skies on a paraglider.

My 1,000 cycle logged on Strava

That’s me just done my 1,000 cycle, that I’ve logged on Strava. My 1,000 cycle was a bit boring, nothing at all to write home about. Just happy to be out cycling again, first cycle in close to 2 weeks!

Just come up with a new idea, of something else I would like to this do this year! And that’s to visit every railway station in UK with my name in it! Luckily they are only two of them!

UK TV programmes to watch this week : 19/01/2019

Call the Midwife (BBC 1/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Sunday 20th January 2019)

Drama about a group of midwives in 1960s London. Lucille helps elderly hoarder Clarice Millgrove who is struggling to keep her independence. Sister Hilda and the team work hard to help a Ghanaian family with an undiagnosed illness.

Fish Town (BBC 1 Scotland/HD & BBC iPlayer only | Monday 21st January 2019)

Series about the UK’s biggest fishing port, Peterhead in north east Scotland. The programme follows an arduous fishing trip off the Shetland Isles, an inspection aboard a pair trawler in the North Sea by the Norwegian coastguard, and the processing and packaging of fish that will be shipped to customers across the UK and Europe.

Silent Witness (BBC 1/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Monday 21st January 2019)

During a heatwave in Brighton, the Lyell team are summoned to a waste dump where a body part has been found. The search is on to recover the other dismembered remains and piece together the victim’s body, which is covered in unusual tattoos. Meanwhile, Nikki is desperate to contact Matt but must wait until he visits from Washington.

With the remains of a second victim appearing in a Brighton recycling plant, it seems the Lyell team are on the trail of a serial killer. Working closely with local detectives DI Taramelli and DS Quicke, they must painstakingly piece together the evidence and unearth the connections between a diverse range of suspects.

Ewan McGregor narrates a captivating portrait of wild Shetland – the remote islands at the northerly limits of Britain – and traces the course of a breeding season from the depths of winter to high summer as the animals on the islands battle for survival.

Heading to the Isle of Wight for ghost stories and glamping, the five first get stuck into prepping dinner. After a night of terrifying tales, the gang take in the unsettling Carisbrooke Castle, as well as a supposedly haunted pub and the seriously spooky Botanic Gardens.
