Video of myself putting on my Rabobank Cycling Team kit for the very first time.
New cycling gear on the way :)
I have just gone and spent £133.50 on some new cycling gear :). Been after some new gear for a while. So after asking people on facebook what I should get, lots of people said I should get the Rabobank team kit. Also lots of straight lads from work said I should get it. So that will be a first for me, having straight lads telling me what gear to get! Just hope I look half has good in it, as Theo Bos does :).

My village has a new shop!
So happy my village has a new shop called “The No.10 Store”. It had it’s opening party on Saturday. But today been the first time, I have been inside. It’s very nice indeed. Also great that I no longer need to cycle to the next village of Castle Bytham to get milk and other stuff.
Sorry it’s been a slow news day!
Had a fun filled day in Cambridge
Oh dear, oh dear, I have gone back into my bad old ways and not been getting this website up-to-date again. When I do it, please will you all tell me off! Then maybe that way, I will keep it updated more.
So now on with today’s news. I went down to Cambridge to see my friends Jaco and Namir. We all had a great time, first we all went into Cambridge City centre to get some food. We went to Pizza Hut. Then I am sure if you follow me on twitter, you will know that, with all the foursquare updates I was posting to it. The food in Pizza Hut was lot better than it was the last time I went, but the service was still a bit on the shit time. So no tip for them at all.hen after food, we all went a nice walk around Cambridge. We were all good and did not buy anything at all.
Then it was back to there place, to just chill out, chat and watch TV.
It was a great day, thanks so much to Jaco and Namir for putting up with me for the day :).
April 2011 cycling statistics
Here are my cycling statistics for April. I did not do as many miles as I would have lived to, due to doing to Killearn for a week, to look after my family’s day. But of course I am still well pleased with 427.5 miles. My yearly total now stands at 1,668.2 miles.
Here is the data from April 2011:-
- Total cycles: 16
- Total Distance: 427.5 miles
- Total Time: 35:33:42 (h:m:s)
- Avg Speed: 12.3 mph

- Max Speed: 31.8 mph
- Avg Distance: 27.23 miles
- Max Distance: 64.56 miles – 21/04/2011
Data from: Garmin Connect.
So much for a short cycle…
The plan was do around 35 miles on the bike today. But some how that turned into a 61 mile cycle. I cycled so far, I ended up cycling into Nottinghamshire. First time I have ever done that from Litttle Bytham. So well pleased with myself.
- Distance: 61 miles.
- Time: 4:43:58 (h:m:s).
- Avg Speed: 12.9 mph.
- Max Speed: 29.4 mph.
- Elevation Gain: 459 meters.
- Elevation Loss: 453 meters
- Min Elevation: 20 meters.
- Max Elevation: 164 meters.
Here is a nice map of today’s 61 mile bike ride.
Just done a 65 mile bike ride
So pleased with myself, just done the longest cycle of the year, also one of the longest ones I have ever done. Would be the longest if you don’t count the End 2 End cycle, where I did 89 miles in one day. So now on with some of the statistics from the cycle.
- Distance: 64.56 miles.
- Time: 4:58:40 (h:m:s).
- Avg Speed: 13.0 mph.
- Max Speed: 28.7 mph.
- Elevation Gain: 531 meters.
- Elevation Loss: 533 meters
- Min Elevation: 36 meters.
- Max Elevation: 164 meters.
Here is a nice map of the full cycle. Which does really give you an idea of just how long 64 miles really is.
Here are some photos from the cycle:-
Updated cycling maps
I have just updated my cycling maps section by updating the Killearn and Little Bytham maps, which show the places I have cycled to from each village.

Rutland Water cycle
I can’t get over just how good the weather has been for the last week. Been warm and sunny just about every day. Which is good news for me, since I am way behind on the number of miles I want to do on my bike this month. Since I was in Scotland for 1 week, only got to use my bike once that I got a flat tyre and did not have any tools in Scotland to fix it :(. By the end of the month I want to do at least 450 miles, right now I have only done 186.7, which also includes the cycle I did today. So need to do at least another 265 miles before the month is out 2 be happy with myself.
Anyways on with today’s nice cycle. I made up my mind, since it’s a great day to cycle to Ruland Water, which is not that far at all from my place, so only a short cycle. Only did 24.5 miles, but I do really like cycling to Rutland Water, it was so busy. Don’t think I have ever seen it so busy on a week day. Then I think that’s got a lot 2 do with lots of schools being off. But I got a ice-cream while there, which is one of the reasons I went :).
So other than the great cycle, not much at all 2 tell you. Other than at long last Channel 4 HD has been added to Freesat, it can be found on channel 126. Meaning that Freesat now got 4 HD channels and all for free. Now got BBC1 HD, BBC HD, ITV1 HD and of course Channel 4 HD. Yes I do really like my HD stuff.
Gay couple ‘removed from Soho pub for kissing’
I am sure you will have heard this story by now. I first heard about it on twitter. A Gay couple were asked to leave a pub in Soho for kissing. Can’t believe that things like this still happen and in what is London’s gay area 2. It’s been all over the news here in the UK.
The Metropolitan Police are investigating the incident. I really hope that person that told them 2 leave, loses his job. Also the pub should be fined or even better closed down.
Read about it on the BBC New website.
