WOW! It’s my Birthday I’ve just turned 46!!
This year, it’s first ever birthday since, my Mum passed away back in April… So not been looking forward to this day for a while! First birthday, without my Mum was always going to be extra hard.
Also not helped by the fact that my Dad has Alzheimer’s. He still knows, who we all are etc. Ask, if what did 5 mins ago, he has no idea. Plus he forgets that my Mum, his wife of over 50 years is no longer here.
So life is a bit shit right now to say the least…

Firsts of everything are always difficult. I lost my Mum around 20 years ago, very suddenly to a heart attack. On the day, I was assisting the Paramedic in the ambulance as she was rushed to the Hospital but they couldn’t save her. I still miss her terribly but it has and does become easier. Over the years, as anniversaries come and go, I’ve learnt to cherish the good times we had together, they’ve helped me to get through the bad. If you need to talk, do consider bereavement counselling – it does help, especially with the added situation with your Dad.
