Made in the 80s: The Decade that Shaped Our World (Channel 4/HD | 10:00pm to 11:05pm | Monday 7th November 2022)

Kevin McCloud visits Sue and Martin who set out to renovate two 16th and 18th-century barns in 1999. Without conventional plans, surveys and specifications the project was delayed a number of times. The original deadline of Christmas 2000 came and went and by September 2002 the build was still not finished. Kevin returns two decades later to see if the house is finally complete.

Saving Lives at Sea (BBC 2/HD | 7:00pm to 8:00pm | Thursday 10th November 2022)

In Baltimore, south west Ireland, the crew are called out to reports of an upturned catamaran over 70 miles out to sea. In Newhaven, on the Sussex coast, a grounded yacht in rolling seas presents a serious challenge. On the island of Anglesey, off north Wales, the crew at Moelfre respond to a 999 call about an injured fisherman.

Susan Calman’s Grand Day Out (Channel 5/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Friday 11th November 2022)

Susan and her campervan head for the Shropshire Hills, and the stunning Ironbridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has an astonishing past as the location of the first iron bridge built anywhere in the world, and it’s indicative of the county’s claim to be the very birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. Then, it’s a stop at Blists Hill Victorian Town, which turns out to be a faithful re-creation of a typical east Shropshire coalfield town from around 1900. Later Susan visits Ludlow, and also explores the British Ironwork Centre and Sculpture Park.
