The Doctor, Yaz and Dan get trapped in a time loop surrounding a storage centre on New Year’s Eve – and in a seemingly never-ending battle with the Daleks. The owner of the company and a regular customer who visits every New Year’s Eve find themselves dragged into the conflict and an experience that will change their lives – if they can make it to next year. Demolition works in Poplar in a tenement block reveal a long-buried secret at Easter 1967, which leads to a police investigation that comes very close to Nonnatus House, and creates a testing and emotional experience for the team. The Flemings return to the area with both good and bad news, and Sister Julienne agrees to take on a sensitive delivery. Nancy’s first day as a midwife gets off to a bad start when her bedroom ceiling collapses.

Warship: Life at Sea (Channel 5/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Monday 3rd January 2022) ** NEW SERIES **

Return of the documentary following the ups and downs of everyday life for a Royal Navy crew, this time going aboard frigate HMS Northumberland on a four-month tour of duty with the 220 personnel. Captain Thom Hobbs prepares his ship to set sail, with deputy logistics officer Meghan Burgoyne overseeing the loading of the copious amounts of food required for the time at sea, and young chef Sauhil James prepares for his very first deployment.

Elton John enters an addiction rehabilitation session, and recounts his life in a flashback, covering his days as young Reginald Dwight growing up in 1950s Britain. He takes piano lessons, makes his way into the Royal Academy of Music, and hones his craft in local pubs before becoming one of the world’s biggest pop stars. Golden Globe-winning biopic, starring Taron Egerton, Jamie Bell and Richard Madden.

Amy Irons joins the team for this new run of the outdoor activities show, beginning with a look at the beautiful Orkney Islands.
