Winter Olympics theme night @ the dogs

On Friday 21st February, where I work is having a theme night for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. I will be wearing my ‘Some People are Gay. Get Over It!’ t-shirt but the new Russian version. Which I ordered yesterday. I feel as a gay man, I have to do my bit for the gay people living in Russia.

Below is photo of myself wearing the English version of the t-shirt. You can order both the English and Russian version’s at web.stonewall.org.uk/public/shop/default.aspx.

Last night at work in 2013!

Here are two photos from my last evening at work in 2013! I am sure that most of you, know that I work at the Peterborough Greyhound Stadium. I am the main restaurant bar supervisor, in control of three bars (two in restaurant and one in the corporate suite). The restaurant has 400 reserved seats. The doors open at 6:30pm with the first race at 7:30pm.

Now you all know what I do :).

Oh dear, yet another member of staff is going

I can’t believe it. Yet another great member of staff is leaving work. This time it’s Emilie! Now who I am going to get all my hugs from?? 🙁

Emilie and myself at work

Good luck with your job BTW Emilie! xx

I really do hate job hunting!

Why, oh why is job hunting just so boring??? Don’t get my wrong I love my current job. Just I really need a job with more hours. Can’t really live on just doing 15 hours a week. Yes, you heard me right just 15 hours! Even if I could get my hours up to 25 hours a week. I would be more than happy. But I already do the maximum number of hours I can at my current job. Since they are only open 3 nights a week.

As much, as I love my current job.  Which is a bar supervisor at the Peterborough Greyhound Stadium. I have been working at the dog track for just over 10 years. I only started working there, while I tried to sort my life out. 10 years later. I am still there.

So it’s about time, I move on and try to set myself some new goals in life…

This time next year. I want to have another job, even if it’s another one on top of my current job.

Oh and I have been looking at www.syha.org.uk/about-us/job-vacancies.aspx a lot for jobs! So yes, I may even move back to Scotland!!

Vlog: Another one leaves the track

Yet another great member of staff leaves the Peterborough Greyhound Stadium. It’s getting very sad, lots of members of staff are leaving. Some of which, I have worked with for 4 years. Which happens most years in September, when they leave to start university.

When they do leave, we of course have to give them a great send off!

Cycled to/from work, third Wednesday in row

Well pleased with myself. Just got back from cycling to and from work (Peterborough Greyhound Stadium) for the third Wednesday in a row! So really hope that the weather is good next Wednesday. So I can make it four in a row!

Cycled to and from work at long last!!

At long last I have gotten around to cycling to and from work for the first time this year! So in other words a 46 mile round trip! It’s taken so long to get around to it this year. Mainly due to the fact, I did not have a pannier rack, fixed to my new bike. Only got around to installing it last Saturday for the Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle.

So now I have have to hope we have great weather for the rest of August and September. So I can do it many times and save lots of money! By not having to use my car so much!

Vlog: Backwards race

A “backwards race” at The Peterborough Greyhound Stadium. Three lads tied to each other, running backwards. Needless to say, they just about all fell over and get cover in sand.
