Sprouts. Series 1, episode 2. Debbie and Jo’s food hub charity has outgrown its modest town centre location in Stockton-on-Tees, Co Durham, so Anneka sets out to transform a neighbourhood hall. Anneka’s challenge is to help supersize their operation by transforming a run-down and creaking neighbourhood hall and its surrounding land around the corner into a new hub with its own cafe, teaching kitchen, food bank and storage facility for their equipment for community activities.

Grassland. Series 1, episode 3. The competitors leave the indigenous island of Haida Gwaii and embark on a 2,000 kilometre journey north to the second checkpoint, Dawson City. Claudia and Kevin are the first to leave with a two minute advantage on the rest, Tricia and Cathie set off with different priorities and Zainib and Mobeen continue to rely on the kindness of strangers. Monique’s education continues along the journey making father Ladi hopeful and Marc and Michael have a spat over Marc’s fear of bears.

Panic spreads throughout Shipton Abbott when an arsonist targets three local businesses, scrawling the word PIG at the scene of each fire. Humphrey and the team are baffled until they realise the fires follow an unusual pattern by invoking the Three Little Pigs fable. A reluctant Kelby is called on by an eccentric local to investigate a break-in, but soon realises that this might be the key to solving the arson case. Elsewhere, Martha has some serious thinking to do. Detective drama, starring Kris Marshall, Sally Bretton and Dylan Llewellyn.

Malaysia. Series 1, episode 4. The presenter explores Malaysia via three train journeys. First is a short hop to the Batu Caves with their rainbow-painted steps. Then Nick boards the jungle train from Mentakab to Gua Musang, taking in an elephant sanctuary. Finally, he enjoys a high-speed trip from arty Ipoh to cosmopolitan Penang.

Woodland. Series 1, episode 2. The wildlife of Britain’s woodlands through the seasons, including a look at how the reintroduction of wild boar to the Forest of Dean has helped robins to find food in winter. Other creatures featured include the world’s largest land slug and starlings falling prey to owls on Bodmin Moor. Plus, a look at how a subterranean network of fungi connects the whole forest together.

Their skill, ingenuity and determination are put to the test as they embark on their journey without access to smartphones, the internet or credit cards. Armed with only the cash equivalent of the airfare to fly their route, the teams travel at ground level through some of the most remote regions in the world.

Reports of strange lights in the sky above North Farm lead ramblers to a newly appeared crop circle where they find an unidentified man’s body. Meanwhile, Martha’s restaurant is reviewed by an influential food critic as she misses an important IVF appointment and makes an important decision regarding plans to start a family. The first episode examines the benefits of Britain’s natural geology and examines ways in which depleted islands can be restored for future generations.

Paul Whitehouse: Our Troubled Rivers (BBC 2/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Sunday 12th March 2023)

Part two of two. Paul visits the River Wye and discovers how an explosion of algae caused by fertiliser run-off from farming is part of a cocktail overwhelming the habitats along the waterway. He travels to Hampshire where he hears about the damage being caused to rare and precious chalk streams, before discovering how regular sewage discharges on the coast are causing problems for Whitstable’s famous oyster industry. Ending his journey in London, Paul finds a beacon of hope in the form of the £4.4billion Thames Tideway super sewer.

The final stop on the search for Britain’s best amateur pianists is Birmingham New Street Station. Featuring a toe-tapping Jerry Lee Lewis hit and a unique Harry Styles cover. As per usual, the unsuspecting performers are being watched by Lang Lang and Mika who are looking for a pianist to play at the Royal Festival Hall.

The peaceful community of Shipton Abbott is rocked when beloved painting the Solo Mare disappears in a seemingly impossible heist while plans are in motion for its appearance at an exhibition. The theft is even more perplexing given the artwork was under the guard of PC Kelby Hartford at the time. Kelby feels responsible and Humphrey pulls out all the stops to recover the priceless piece. Drama, starring Kris Marshall and Sally Bretton.

The countdown to Trixie and Matthew’s wedding officially begins, with Sister Veronica taking charge of organising the wedding gifts, while the bride’s brother Geoffrey arriving and setting out to arrange the perfect hen party. However, the nuptials cause stress levels to escalate as a catalogue of disasters threaten to spoil the day. Meanwhile, a car crash leaves Dr Turner facing the biggest test of his career when he left to save a precious life, Nancy considers her and Colette’s future and Sister Julienne hatches a plan to save Nonnatus House once and for all.

Killer Dinosaurs. Series 1, episode 3. The actor finds himself transported back to a huge forest 68 million years ago in the late Cretaceous period, home to deadly predator Tyrannosaurus rex. With the help of expert Dr David Hone, Stephen observes a T-rex on the rampage, crunching up huge corpses and stalking a herd of triceratops, and they also encounter a giant flying reptile known as quetzalcoatlus. which stood taller than a giraffe and had the wingspan of a light aircraft.

A4 Mallard. Series 2, episode 7. There’s a huge challenge for designer Phil to get the iconic curvature correct on Hornby’s latest range of A4 locos.

The hunt for outstanding amateur pianists continues in Glasgow Central Station with impromptu performances from a local jazz legend, an 86 year-old father of 11, a YouTube star and a boogie woogie biker who believes music is in her DNA. Watching them all in secret are Lang Lang and Mika, who are looking for a performer to play at The Royal Festival Hall.

When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth. Series 1, episode 2. The actor examines the early Cretaceous period, an era that saw an explosion in dinosaur diversity 125 million years ago. In a vast and sandy virtual river valley, he sets off in search of the fearsome velociraptor, only to find that this dreaded dinosaur made famous in the Jurassic Park films was in reality no bigger than a turkey. Stephen is joined by expert Dr Dean Lomax to observe the remarkable behaviour of this highly intelligent predator, before heading to the US to meet the dinosaur hunter who first discovered the Utahraptor.

DI Humphrey Goodman and fiancée Martha Lloyd have left Saint Marie behind and having now also vacated London are temporarily living with Martha’s mother. As Humphrey throws himself into solving a perplexing case of attempted murder, he and Martha navigate life’s ups and downs as faces from the past, the decisions they make and challenges of setting up a new life put their relationship to the test.

Dawn of the Dinosaurs. Series 1, episode 1. The actor and writer is magically transported back in time to chart the 180-million-year story of the prehistoric creatures, beginning by going back 155 million years to the Jurassic period. He explores the conifer forests and fern prairies that were their home, encountering a monstrous plant-eating diplodocus and deadly predator the allosaurus. Expert Susie Maidment arrives to decode these dinosaurs’ remarkable behaviour, including the diplodocus’s acrobatic ability to rear up on its hind legs and the allosaurus’s terrifying attack strategy.

Everyone is looking forward to Trixie and Matthew’s wedding and a bonny baby competition brings the community together. It’s not all good news, however, as the team learn about a pregnant woman and her family living in a cramped caravan, while a worrying disease outbreak directly impacts the residents of Nonnatus House.

Everyone is excited for the end of term show and Danny has some good news to celebrate but the joy is short-lived when the past catches up with him, leading him to make a choice that could change the course of his life for ever. Drama, starring Angela Griffin, with Kym Marsh.

Series 3, episode 7. Following Neville’s arrest on suspicion of killing David Cartwright, DI Karen Flitcroft from the Department of Policing Standards arrives to investigate. CCTV footage shows an agitated Neville visiting the victim shortly before he was found dead, which as far as Flitcroft is concerned proves his guilt – so she advises the team members that if they are convinced of their inspector’s innocence, they must prove it quickly.

Monica Joan welcomes an unusual guest into Nonnatus House and Fred worries about the pressure one of his paperboys is under to support his father and younger siblings.

Southbay (Part 1/2). Jack comes to the aid of an old friend, and is sucked into a difficult case, where he is pitted against his former mentor. As Nikki and the team start to create a picture of what happened, they learn nothing is as it seems. Dealing with a family of serving police officers, they have to tread carefully, as their relationships prove to be another obstacle for the team to overcome.

The year nines are suspicious about Neil’s personal life while he’s busy bonding with refugee Norullah. The truth comes out after an inquest into the accident.

The maternity home is thrown into chaos by an outbreak of gastroenteritis. The team dig deep to ensure all mothers and newborn babies recover. However, the Board of Health are less than happy with the way things have been handled. Nurse Crane fights to save her career when her age is called into question by the Consultant running a training course, and Cyril encourages Reggie to seek help with his declining health.

Paul and Suki also meet Kate and Norman, who are part of the Wheeled Access group, which encourages anyone with a disability to get out and enjoy the area.

Ian also hooks up with Two Doors Down star Alex Norton to visit the Callanish standing stones.
