Celebrating Disney at the Proms: The Music of Menken. Nick Mohammed presents a concert from the Royal Albert Hall with Sarah Hicks conducting the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in a concert featuring Alan Menken’s music for Disney films. The American composer’s acclaimed catalogue of shows, songs and scores includes many of Disney’s greatest hits, and conductor Hicks and the BBC Philharmonic are joined by singers Marisha Wallace, Lucie Jones and other West End stars, as well as performers from the National Youth Music Theatre, in a celebration of this classic songwriter, including excerpts from the scores for The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and Enchanted.

Amy arrives to help clear Kirsten’s name when she is faced with the wrath of the Russians. Together, they dig into the complex motivations within the hub whilst something more sinister bubbles beneath its surface. The truth of Hodge’s murder may be closer to home than they thought, but the situation threatens to combust before they can get to the truth.

In the wake of the hub invasion, Henrik and Kirsten close in on the missing scientist, with Amy not far behind. As tensions rise and new allegiances are formed, the danger of Svalbard’s wilderness becomes apparent when a storm closes in. The detectives must race to stop those with ulterior motives before it is too late, but will their relationship survive this newest hurdle?

Race Against the Tide (BBC 2/HD | 7:30pm to 8:00pm | Tuesday 8th September 2026)

Iain Stirling challenges the five remaining teams to create monsters out of sand, with the duos battling six hours of gale-force winds and the tide to carve their most gruesome creations yet. Sadie Clayton and Jamie Wardley judge the efforts, which take in everything from devilish beasts to twisted clowns as imagination and creativity meets pure endurance.

Saving Lives at Sea (BBC 2/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Tuesday 8th September 2026)

When a surfer is left paralysed by a wave, the Appledore crew are tasked with an immediate launch. It soon becomes clear that the casualty has been saved from drowning by a teenage boy. In Little and Broad Haven, south Wales, there’s a frantic search for two paddleboarders swept over a mile out to sea. Also, the Hayling Island crew race against time to rescue a fisherman trapped in mud.
