Library. Series 1, episode 1. Sara Cox presents as a team of expert model-makers bring cherished places from the past back to life in miniature. The first episode features Manchester’s now-derelict Crumpsall Library, which is recreated for Leah, a retired social worker who met her late husband there as a teenager.

The penultimate leg of the race is the longest so far, with the teams travelling from the islands of Bocas del Toro on northern Panama’s Caribbean coast, to Medellín, Colombia’s second largest city. Standing in their way is the notorious and dangerous Darién Gap – their only option is to bypass it by sea, enduring a lengthy, arduous and costly boat journey, putting their dwindling budgets under pressure. On reaching the final country of the race, teams are confronted with another challenge to overcome – a heightened security risk on the route to Medellín.

What happened to the weather? Started off so nice! Then I got super WET and COLD!

Well that cycle was hard going! For first 20 miles or so, the could not have been better!! Well for time of year anyway! The sun was out, and it was around 11C. Then With around 9 miles to go, the rain started! It was very cold rain, just about hail at times! Also the wind picked up at same time!

So really glad, I was wearing my Synergy Swimrun wetsuit. I still got, very wet, but at least it kept me warm!

That’s me just ordered the Arkel – TailRider 2 – Trunk Bag. Which will go well with the Arkel GT-18BP Classic – Convertible Backpack Pannier. Which I got a number of weeks back!

My main goals for 2026

These are my main goals for 2026. These are not in any order at all…

  • Walk at least two or three more days of The West Highland Way. So far done two!
  • Do more of the John Muir Way. So far done day 1, which took us from Helensburgh to Balloch.
  • Walk 1,000 miles again in year!
  • Take Bugsy and Ted on many more holidays!
  • Visit many more UK railways stations! Only ticked off 15 during 2025!
  • Buy my own E-Bike. Right now using my house mates.
  • Cycle 100 miles in a single ride! Yes, I keep saying that, maybe 2026 will be when I do it again!
  • Cycle at least 2,500 miles.
  • Get many more Trophies on Strava!
  • Starting doing vlogs again! Sure you all miss seeing me running around in Lycra and wetsuits!
  • Keep my credit card balance below £200!
  • Keep doing record hours at work!
