Alan Cumming goes on a trip aboard the Royal Scotsman train, presenting an odyssey through the heart of Scotland. In this first episode, Alan boards in Edinburgh and receives a tour of the train, getting an insight into the workings of the kitchen. He also takes a stroll across the Silver Sands of Morar, which featured in the movie Local Hero, and hears the story of the construction of the West Highland Line’s extension from Fort William to the fishing town of Mallaig.

They try to fill in the pieces by speaking to Bergen’s employers Karin and Stefan Jakobson – a wealthy Swedish couple who arrived in Shetland six months ago – and discover Bergen was a nurse to their chronically ill daughter Astrid, Meanwhile, Cora makes a shocking discovery during the post-mortem.
