Days that Shook the BBC with David Dimbleby (BBC 2/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Tuesday 30th August 2022) ** NEW SERIES **

A personal take on controversies that affected the BBC during the presenter’s time there, including its role in key moments of political and cultural change. In the first episode, David examines the way that the BBC has dealt with power, and how it has sought to preserve and assert its independence over the last half century. From Margaret Thatcher and Harold Wilson, to the British monarchy, David considers moments in which the BBC has come into conflict with key parts of the establishment. Following conversations with current and former BBC staff members, including broadcaster Emily Maitlis, David argues that ensuring the BBC’s separation from those in power lies at the very heart of the Corporation’s remit.

Perez rushes to the scene of the explosion to find Tosh dazed but unharmed. He issues a warrant for Connor’s arrest, to the outrage of Rachel Cairns. The complexity and size of the bomb suggests Connor was planning some kind of attack. The team speak to those who knew him in search of extremist beliefs. Jamie, Murray and Lloyd reject any notion that Connor is capable of violence, but a despairing Danny admits environmental issues made his son angry. Meanwhile, Sandy searches for William Rodgers’ reason for being in Shetland.

Changing Rooms (Channel 4/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Wednesday 31st August 2022)

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and Whinnie Williams are in the West Yorkshire village of Haworth, to help a mother and son make over a room in each other’s homes. Mum Sonya is helped by eldest son Nathaniel, while younger son Christian works with his girlfriend Charlotte, updating a pokey kitchen and a living room with office space. But as they find, updating historic buildings without losing their charm, as well as dealing with wonky walls and uneven surfaces, brings its own challenges.

Grand Designs (Channel 4/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Wednesday 31st August 2022) ** NEW SERIES **

Kevin McCloud returns to follow more ambitious home-design projects, beginning by meeting adventurous couple Colin and Adele. They have employed a Swedish architect, an Italian interior design company and a Latvian building company to complete the eye-popping curved glass family home in the Manchester suburb where they both grew up.

Saving Lives at Sea (BBC 2/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Thursday 1st September 2022)

In Swanage, the lifeboat crew work with the specialist coastguard rope team to help an injured climber. In Rhyl, north Wales, a retired crew member comes to the aid of a person in the water when mechanical problems throw a spanner in the works of the lifeboat. And on Douglas in the Isle of Man, a fire on a fishing boat puts the crew on red alert.

This Is My House (BBC 1/HD | 8:30pm to 9:00pm | Friday 2nd September 2022)

The property-based guessing game sees four people all claiming to be Lynsay, owner of a four-bedroom detached luxury house in the Scottish borders. The property boasts a steam room, walk-in wardrobes and koi carp pond and the true Lynsay runs an online business selling luxury cheese boards. It falls to panellists Judi Love, Richard Madeley, Nabil Abdulrashid, Katie Piper and Nick Grimshaw to sort out the facts from the fiction.

It’s International Dog Day 2022! So here are some photos of my new best friend Bugsy! Oh and don’t worry Cooper, I will NEVER, NEVER forget you!

Cooper may have passed anyway, a good number of months ago now. But still miss him each and every day. Can’t get my head around it. Still in mourning… Every time, I think I am getting use to him not being around, something sets me off…

Life has just not been the same since he died! xx

But of course, having Bugsy has really helped me! He’s starting to be great fun to be around! Can’t wait to go on many adventures with him…

Going by my VeloViewer Infographic, I’ve had 235 active days so far in 2022! Which means, I’ve done at least one cycle or walk each day so far this year!

That’s me now done a total distance of 2,117 miles this year. Which is made up 1,271 miles of cycling and 846 miles of walking!!

So pleased with myself! I’ve just done my first 50+ mile cycle of 2022!

First time at Elton and Orston railway station during 2022

Been to Elton and Orston railway station many times over the years! Even got a train from it twice, but not for a number of years!

You maybe thinking WOW. You, got a train from a railway station. But during 2020/21 only 12 people used it! Plus it only gets two trains a day, one each way. Plus no Sunday service.

WOW! So happy with myself, just done my first 50+ mile cycle of 2022! Really hoping, that I can do least another 2 or 3 of them, before the year is out…

The cycle also covered 9.4 miles, of roads, I had never used on before!

Two sets of neighbours in Luton set out to transform a room in each other’s homes. To help, they have been given designs by interior experts Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead. However, Jordan and Russell have both come down with Covid-19, so helping to breathe life into their designs are Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and Whinnie Williams.

Connor’s ring is found in the same car as Bryd’s body, and while Rachel rejects any notion that her son might be involved, grieving mother Aileen Fleming presents a darker view of him. Abbie confesses that Connor used to work for drugs gangs in Glasgow, which is the real reason for his suicide attempt. With all this new evidence, Perez is forced to revise his view of the missing man – but is he capable of murder?

Return of the documentary about RNLI volunteers, beginning with a Christmas Eve case in Newhaven and the attempted rescue of two paragliders. They have landed on an isolated stretch of beach, and are now being swamped by the rapidly rising tide. At Port St Mary, on the Isle of Man, the crew race to a stranded yacht that’s in danger of breaking up on rocks with a crew of three still aboard.

This Is My House (BBC 1/HD | 8:30pm to 9:00pm | Friday 26th August 2022)

Judi Love, Richard Madeley, Harry Hill and Shaun Ryder turn detective as they try to work out which of four players is the real Ellie, owner of a two-bed ex-council flat in Pollokshields, Glasgow. Two of the potential owners enter a heated argument about where the best shops are in the neighbourhood and the quartet of Ellies are invited to talk about their relationship with the true owner’s brother. Plus, all four into the real homeowner’s wardrobe to try to prove the eclectic clothes therein belong to them.
