Great British Train Journeys from Above (Channel 4/HD | 8:20pm to 9:20pm | Saturday 1st November 2025)

Hugh Bonneville narrates a journey through the rolling hills of England’s south-west on the West Somerset Railway created by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Widely recognised as one of the greatest engineers of all time, Brunel’s remarkable railways and structures are known worldwide. This episode travels along his railway through the Quantock Hills to the Bristol Channel.

Shetland (BBC 1/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Wednesday 5th November 2025) ** NEW SERIES **

Calder and Tosh travel to the isolated hamlet of Lunniswick to investigate the sinister killing of a retired social worker. The team discover that the victim’s body has been out in the elements for a number of days and before long, they uncover dark secrets and terrible deeds at the heart of this close-knit community. Crime drama, starring Ashley Jensen and Alison O’Donnell.

Grand Designs (Channel 4/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Wednesday 5th November 2025)

Wirral Revisit. Series 26, episode 6. Kevin McCloud revisits Stuart and Rosie Treasurer from Wirral, who he first met in 2016 when they set out to transform a small bungalow from a 1960s dormer into a slick piece of 21st-century architecture. The plan saw the couple decapitate the building and balance a new floating timber box on top to create five bedrooms, spending as little as possible on plumbing, electrics and insulation, but stress levels spiralled when neighbours grumbled at the ultra-modern creation. Nine years on, Kevin sees how Stuart and Rosie are getting on.

Celebrity Race Across the World (BBC 1/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Thursday 6th November 2025) ** NEW SERIES **

Each accompanied by a partner or family member, broadcaster Roman Kemp, actor Dylan Llewellyn, broadcaster and writer Anita Rani, actress and singer Molly Rainford embark on an epic 5,900km race through the entirety of Central America. The race begins on Isla Mujeres, the easternmost point of Mexico and a sacred island of the Maya. The four pairs must pass through five checkpoints to reach the finish line in Península de la Guajira, the northernmost region of South America.

Return to Paradise (BBC 1/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Friday 7th November 2025) ** PICK OF THE WEEK **

Killer Set. Series 2, episode 2. Mackenzie Clarke gets VIP access to the chart-topping band Point Ruin’s reunion concert, when one of their members is murdered in the green room. But with all the suspects on stage at the time, how could the killer have done it? Away from the murder, Glenn and Daisy send out invitations to their wedding, and Mackenzie has to deal with her feelings when she’s not invited.

Susan Calman’s Grand Day Out (Channel 5/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Friday 7th November 2025)

Homes and Gardens. Series 9, episode 7. Susan visits Dumfries House in Ayrshire, exploring its treasures, from Thomas Chippendale furniture to the estate’s eight antique clocks, and wandering the walled garden and maze. She also recalls some of her favourite home and garden adventures from her joyful Grand Days Out.
