West Midlands. Series 26, episode 5. Kevin McCloud meets entrepreneur Piers and police officer Emma, who bought a folly next to their home in the West Midlands with plans to knock it down and replace it with a sprawling 21st-century castle. With plans to have a tower, castellations, a moat, arrow slits, loggia courtyards and futuristic technology, it’s set to be the first new listed castle in the UK for 100 years. It is also the biggest building ever featured on the show – and it doesn’t take long before the couple’s budget begins to soar.

Apex Predator. Series 2, episode 1. A scientist working at a shark research lab is found dead on a runaway boat. Detective Mackenzie Clarke – aka Mack – suspects the death is a meticulously planned murder. The return of the Death in Paradise spin-off, starring Anna Samson and Lloyd Griffith.

Susan Calman’s Grand Day Out (Channel 5/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Friday 31st October 2025)

The Legends of King Arthur. Series 9, episode 6. The comedian embarks on a quest through Somerset, hunting for signs of King Arthur. Susan’s trip starts at Glastonbury Abbey, which claims to be the site of his tomb. Next, Susan’s volunteering on England’s longest heritage rail line – the West Somerset Railway. At a forge outside Glastonbury, the presenter hears how the most famous sword in history – Excalibur – might have been made. Then, she uncovers another local legend – John Haynes, he man behind the iconic Haynes car manuals.
