The teams venture through Peru’s high altitudes as the race reaches the halfway mark – but the first hurdle they face is bypassing the ongoing state of emergency in Ecuador, and drastic measures are required to ensure the competitors’ safety. Emon and Jamiul are in the lead but massively over budget, so try to get work with some local fishermen, while Dom and Lizzie discover a connection to their grandmother in Peru’s capital.

With no adults around to supervise them, three groups of children from different primary schools visit the National Museum of Scotland after hours.

Walking Britain’s Lost Railways (Channel 5/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Friday 3rd April 2020)

Rob Bell travels to Bangor in north Wales, where he explores a lost line that was built in 1801 to transport Welsh slate from the local quarry, which once was the largest in the world, and now provides the backdrop for the world’s fastest zip line. He also follows the Victorian railway inland to Llanberis, where tourists still flock to ride a special train to the summit of Snowdon, and discovers why the heirs to the throne have been styled ‘Prince of Wales’ for seven centuries.

The actor travels through the heart of South America, exploring Argentina and Peru. In Buenos Aires he meets up with charismatic local Viviana Parara. They go tango dancing, out for a lunch of prime Argentine steak and finally find themselves in the middle of a huge street dance. Tony then travels north into Peru, heading to the ancient city of Cusco where he takes a detour to visit the Amazon rainforest. A further train ride takes him from Cusco up to the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu. Visiting this Incan citadel has been a lifelong dream for Tony, and it does not disappoint.
