Another day, another heritage railway. This time the Nene Valley Railway. Done this one a good number of times. Since it’s my most local one. But it’s still a very good one.

Still can’t believe how many heritage railway lines, I have been on so far this year. So far I have done: Battlefield Line Railway, Great Central Railway, Mid Norfolk Railway, North Norfolk Railway, North Yorkshire Moors Railway and of course Nene Valley Railway!!

Then tomorrow, I am off to York! So I will of course be going to the National Railway Museum.

I had great fun in London today with my older brother Douglas and his wife Lisa. Made a nice change to have someone with me! Meant I had people with me, that could take photos of me!

I had great fun driving up to Oban today! I went up with two friends. Neil and Jamie. We left Killearn around 11:00am and did not get to Oban, till gone 2:15pm.

Would have got there sooner, if we had not taken a wrong turn! Oh well these things happen. We did not mind that much, since still got many good photos on the wrong road, before turning around. Just meant we only had 1 hour in Oban. Since I had to be back home by 6pm! To go and see my bother and his wife in Glasgow in the evening.

Also can’t believe for the third day in the row it’s not rained! What is going on??

Mark and myself had a great day at the Great Central Railway. We parked the car at Rothley Station, then got the train to Loughborough Central, then another train to Quorn & Woodhouse Station. Then walked back to Rothley Station with Cooper :).

So had a great bank holiday weekend. Done two heritage railways. North Yorkshire Moors Railway yesterday and Great Central Railway today. Now to think what line(s) we will do during the next bank holiday weekend :).

Today Mark and myself set off to the Monsal Trail yet again! This time we parked at (Topley Pike layby on the A6) then walked down 1 in 5 hill to the start/end of the Monsal Trail at Wyedale. We then walked a good 7 miles to the Headstone Viaduct. Which of course did meant we had to walk the whole way back again! We did really notice that 1 in 5 whole walking back up to to the car!
