Platinum Party at the Palace (BBC 1/HD | 7:30pm to 10:30pm | Saturday 4th June 2022)

The third day of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations continue with a spectacular evening of entertainment. The Buckingham Palace concert features a glittering array of global stars and performers, including Queen + Adam Lambert, George Ezra, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Nile Rodgers, and Diana Ross, who celebrate 70 years of Her Majesty The Queen’s reign. As darkness falls, the Palace will be illuminated by stunning projections to accompany the show-stopping and emotional songs and performances. Kirsty Young is in St James’s Park in London with special guests, and Roman Kemp is backstage catching up with some of the performers taking part.

Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In (Channel 4/HD | 7:30pm to 9:45pm | Saturday 4th June 2022)

Documentary following the life and career of the legendary football manager, who won an unprecedented 38 trophies during his 26-year tenure in charge of Manchester United. From his working-class roots in Govan, Glasgow to his career as one of the most acclaimed managers of all time, the film takes a look at what makes Sir Alex tick. While recovering from a traumatic brain haemorrhage, Ferguson recounts details of his life and career to his son Jason. Aside from interviews with Alex, his wife Cathy and his three sons, there are contributions from former colleagues and players including Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs and Gordon Strachan.

Freddie Flintoff, Chris Harris and Paddy McGuinness kick off a new series by saddling up the team bus for an RV road trip across Florida’s swampy Everglades to hunt down some weird and wonderful local motorsports.

Part five of six. The death of an investigative journalist throws the spotlight onto Sam Ryan. Nikki begins to realise the implications of her discoveries will challenge the principles of forensic science. Penultimate episode of the 25th anniversary story, starring Emilia Fix and Amanda Burton.

DIY SOS (BBC 1/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Tuesday 7th June 2022)

Nick Knowles and the team travel to Fegg Hayes in Stoke, where Sue’s family have lived for six generations. To tackle poverty, isolation and mental health problems, they have taken over a patch of wasteland in the heart of the community, with the aim of creating a community garden and centre with room to grow vegetables and space where young and old can share knowledge and experiences. The DIY SOS team are determined to help get the job done, accompanied by hundreds of local tradespeople – only to run into the worst storms to hit Britain in recent years.

Nikki is unsure to trust, leading her to conclude that getting the truth will put her colleagues and everything they love in danger. As they get to the heart of their investigation, and with the world they hold dear teetering on a knife edge, the Lyell team confront their threats to preserve the credibility of DNA. Conclusion of the 25th anniversary story, starring Emilia Fox, Amanda Burton and David Caves.

Secrets of the London Underground (Yesterday | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Thursday 9th June 2022)

Tim Dunn and Siddy Holloway explore King’s Cross St Pancras, including a secret siding and the disused Thameslink station.

This Is My House (BBC 1/HD | 8:30pm to 9:00pm | Friday 10th June 2022) ** NEW SERIES AND PICK OF THE WEEK **

Four people called Joey claim to own a newly renovated three-bedroom semi-detached house in the historic Welsh market town of Conwy and it falls to celebrity panellists Judi Love, Richard Madeley, Harry Hill and Harriet Kemsley to figure out which one is the honest homeowner and who are the impostors. Whoever persuades the panellists that they are the real homeowner walks away with a cash prize.

British Planes That Won the War with Rob Bell (Channel 5/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Friday 10th June 2022) ** NEW SERIES **

The engineer explores how four iconic British-built aircraft became masters of the sky and pioneered a new era of flight, beginning with the Sopwith Camel. Two years into the First World War, the British fleet was being outgunned and outmanoeuvred by the newer German fighter planes, and the answer came from the Sopwith Aviation Company and a designer called Herbert Smith. This game-changing aircraft shot down more enemy aircraft during the conflict than any other Allied fighter, and became crucial in reclaiming the skies over the Western Front.

The story of Queen Elizabeth II in her own words, featuring never-before-seen home movie footage from her childhood up to her 1953 Coronation at the age of 27. It features a clip marking the first extended visit of Prince Philip to Balmoral in 1946, while the couple’s engagement was still not public and depicts Princess Elizabeth as a young mother with Prince Charles and Princess Anne spending time with their grandparents, the King and Queen.

Meanwhile, in Minnesota, viewers meet Kory, who has brought back to life a legend from the steam age, the Case 150.

However, Nikki is unsure if her predecessor can be trusted, as she seems to know more than she’s revealing. Guest starring Hugh Quarshie.

World’s Most Amazing Tractors (Channel 5/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Friday 27th May 2022)

In Staffordshire, cameras follow the engineers behind the world’s fastest tractor – the JCB Fastrac 2, which has clocked 150mph – and see it in action. Off the coast of Devon, there’s a look at the 53-year-old Burgh Island sea tractor, custom built to transport passengers across the waves and into the lap of a luxury hotel.
