After visiting an original Mosquito at the de Havilland aircraft museum, Airfix designer Paramjit attempts to shrink the wooden wonder to 1:72 scale.

DIY SOS (BBC 1/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Tuesday 16th November 2021)

Comedian Rhod Gilbert dons his hard hat as guest presenter for this ambitious build in Brandesburton near Hull, East Yorkshire. The team are joined by local volunteers to transform an overgrown 2.5 acres into a purpose-built adventure campsite for the St Michael’s Youth Project (St Mike’s), which receives funding from Children in Need.

Shetland (BBC 1/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Wednesday 17th November 2021)

Having reached a dead end, Perez returns to the incident board in a fresh search for clues and soon finds that Carrie McAndrew, the chef on Eamon’s boat, was in debt to Niven Guthrie. Fiona Bedford also reveals that her husband is tracking her whereabouts, so must have known about her affair with Galbraith. Armed with this information, Perez delves deeper into Bedford’s movements on the day of Galbraith’s death. Meanwhile, as Donna grows weaker she asks Duncan for one last favour, a request that leaves him horrified.

Britain’s Scenic Railways (More4 | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Wednesday 17th November 2021)

The documentary follows the route of the Hogwarts Express to Glenfinnan station, where a piece of railway history is up for sale. A Highlands helicopter ride reveals how climate change is threatening the line, and cameras follow efforts to restore a cherished steam locomotive to the Strathspey Railway.

Scotland’s Best Dog (BBC Scotland/HD & BBC iPlayer only Thursday 18th November 2021) ** NEW SERIES **

Proud pet owners and their hopeful hounds compete for the coveted Golden Bone trophy. Along with their proud humans, each week three pooches will be tested on a number of challenges before a panel of judges – dog-lover Kaye Adams, animal behaviourist River McDonald and SSPCA veteran, and dog trainer, Alan Grant.

Walking Britain’s Lost Railways (Channel 5/HD | 7:00pm to 8:00pm | Friday 19th November 2021)

Rob Bell explores the lost railways of Northern Ireland, starting in Belfast, where they helped to create a city and a world-renowned shipbuilding centre. Rob’s railway route takes him from the Irish Sea to the Atlantic coast, and, on a visit to Armagh, he learns of a campaign to restore the Belfast to Armagh route and visits the site of the Armagh railway disaster, which proved a watershed moment for railway safety.

Susan Calman’s Grand Day Out (Channel 5/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Friday 19th November 2021)

The presenter explores Kent, and investigates the curiously named Leeds Castle. She also takes a look round Chatham and its historic dockyard, which, as it turns out, is home to not only the world’s only working Victorian Ropery, but also Britain’s only female master rope maker. Susan concludes her trip at one of the most iconic and recognisable views of Britain – the White Cliffs of Dover.

Along the way she meets a Jane Austen aficionado who is happy to provide some fitting period costume and all the gossip behind that era, takes in the astonishing 400-foot-high cliffs of the Cheddar Gorge and is challenged to a game of skittles.

After being pushed into announcing a departure date, Tony Blair stepped down as prime minister on June 27, 2007 and Gordon Brown was finally able to take the reins. This episode tells the story of how Brown reacted to the global financial crash, bringing together leaders to try to save the world’s economy. Despite this, the public turned against his government and in 2010, after 13 years in power, New Labour was finally forced out of office.

Record producer Pete Waterman is commissioned by Chester Cathedral to construct a monster layout in tribute to the unsung 19th-century railway builder Thomas Brassey.

Saving Lives at Sea (BBC 2/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Tuesday 2nd November 2021)

In Portrush, Co Antrim, the crew race to rescue a boy who has got into difficulties after jumping off rocks, and one of the crew volunteers enters the water to save him. On the Pembrokeshire coast, the lifeguard team at Whitesands Beach join forces with the St David lifeboat crew to rescue someone who has been found unconscious in the water.

The race is on to catch Sandy’s attacker before he can escape Shetland, while Lynda Morton finds herself in trouble, so she desperately calls Perez for help – offering a key name for his investigation in return. Blood from the recent break-in throws up a DNA match that leads to another murder suspect, and a shocking confession causes tensions to boil over, sowing the seeds of further violence.

He ordered me Doctor Who Christmas Special 2017 – Twice Upon A Time. Which turns out, I had never seen it before!

He also ordered me Die Hard, which I had not seen in years and years!

Lego Masters (Channel 4/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Tuesday 27th November 2018)

Just five teams remain in the Lego Masters semi-final, all of them facing a huge fight to get through to the final. The teams need to access their artistic side as first they’re challenged to create a bust of a live model, Johnny Vegas. Using the plastic building bricks, the teams must create a sculpture that not only looks like Johnny, but also expresses his personality. And he’ll be the one to judge who’s captured him the best. Next, the teams head for the Lego Masters House of Fun, where they must create a playable, life-size arcade game. It needs to not only look great, but must also function just like the real thing. Presenter Melvin Odoom and judges Matthew Ashton and Fran Scott will be testing each game for actual playability.

Egyptian Tomb Hunting (Channel 5/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Tuesday 27th November 2018)

Tony Robinson takes an exciting tomb-hunting adventure across Egypt to investigate the startling series of recent tomb discoveries that are revealing new facts about life in the ancient world. He enters tombs that have been sealed shut for thousands of years, meets mummies, holds an Ancient Egyptian prime minister’s heart and discovers hieroglyphs only ever seen by the ancient Egyptians who created them.

Grand Designs (Channel 4/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Wednesday 28th November 2018)

In this final episode, Kevin exclusively reveals the winner of the most prestigious prize for residential architecture, the Riba House of the Year 2018. But first, alongside architect Damion Burrows and design expert Michelle Ogundehin, he explores the last group of houses on the long list. Each one uses materials in interesting ways. In leafy Berkshire, there’s a perfectly crafted timber box, with sleek concrete floors and giant six-metre windows. In Belfast, there is a small but perfectly formed house with black larch cladding. In Surrey, a completely revamped 1930s house with a pale brick and glass modernist extension blends beautifully into its setting. And finally, an experimental house in London makes the materials it’s built from part of the design. Kevin then reveals which of these properties has made it onto the shortlist before exclusively announcing the overall winner of House of the Year.

Travelogue series reuniting Michael Buerk and John Sergeant to explore Britain’s coastline by yacht. Missing the morning tide out of Portsmouth, the duo visit HMS Victory. Then they set sail to Cowes, where too much champagne inspires a race in small sailing dinghies. Finally they decipher the maps to make their way past the iconic Needles to Poole.

Portillo’s Hidden History of Britain (Channel 5/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Friday 30th November 2018)

Michael Portillo explores abandoned locations. The New Victoria in Bradford was Britain’s first cinema, with a 3,000-seat theatre, a decadent ballroom and state-of-the-art technology. It closed in 2000, but a new generation has reinvented the building.

Following the remarkable story of 18-year-old Billy Monger, one of Britain’s most exciting young racing drivers, who in April 2017 was involved in a devastating crash, resulting in the amputation of his legs. Incredibly, soon after his accident, Billy resolved to get back to racing, in the hope of becoming the first ever amputee to race competitively in a single-seater racing car.

Kevin McCloud, architect Damion Burrows, and design expert Michelle Ogundehin visit four more stunning homes looking to be crowned Riba House of the Year 2018. This time, the theme is Extreme Houses. There’s an awe-inspiring set of cantilevered black boxes which push the limits of engineering; a far-flung 21st century crofter’s cottage by a Loch in Scotland; a curvaceous minimal concrete home in London; and in Northern Ireland, a sculptural home designed around a single shape – the wedge. Which of them will make it onto the shortlist for the overall big prize?

Great Canal Journeys (Channel 4/HD | 7:30pm to 8:30pm | Sunday 11th November 2018)

Timothy West and Prunella Scales return to the English canal system as they navigate the Lancaster Canal. An early masterpiece of the waterways, ‘The Lanky’ wends its way north, through the city of Lancaster and along the coast at Morecambe Bay. The waterway is largely rural, running through rolling open countryside and deep woods. It also boasts one of the most elegant pieces of canal architecture in the country, the Lune Aqueduct. When their journey reaches Carnforth, Tim and Pru visit its train station, which was used as the key location in the film Brief Encounter. This is a very personal voyage for Pru. Long-forgotten memories rise to the surface as she visits the lakeland village of Near Sawrey, where her family lived during much of the war and as a child she once saw Beatrix Potter.

Swindon control jump into action when an unexploded WWII bomb is found near the line in Teignmouth, transport police seek a word with a man who jumped onto the track to retrieve something he dropped, and team leader Martyn reveals the high cost of cleaning up graffiti.

Presenter Melvin Odoom invites the seven remaining teams to take part in the Lego Masters ‘Drop Test’. Using just 1000 bricks, the teams must create a structure that will smash to pieces when dropped from a height. The further the spread of broken bricks, the higher the score. It will be unnatural for them, and against everything they believe in, but who will win this test of brick building destruction? Next, the teams put their creative hats on, as they step ‘brick in time’ to construct a scene from history. From the Ice Age to Ancient Egypt to 1950s America, which historical scene will the judges like the best? Matthew Ashton and Fran Scott are joined on judging duty by comedian Paddy McGuinness.
