Presenter, dog-lover and All Creatures super-fan Graeme Hall journeys up to the Yorkshire Dales to learn the secrets behind the making of the much-loved hit TV series. Graeme spends time with both the human and furry cast members, takes a tour of the studio set and the market town of Grassington, Darrowby, with actor Callum Woodhouse, and even takes on an acting role in the show itself.

Comfort and Joy. It’s Christmas 1945, the first peacetime Christmas after the war and, with Helen feeling under the weather, it’s fallen on James to take on the Darrowby Nativity play. That’s not all that James has on his mind, as he fears it’s the end of the road for Tricki’s hopes of fatherhood and dreads telling Mrs Pumphrey, while Siegfried is back at Mrs Stokes’ farm to see Hilda the goat, who’s been up to more mischief. As the big day approaches, Mrs Hall becomes interested in the Drovers’ darts competition, because the first prize is a turkey, and Maggie reminds Tristan that he’s supposed to be supplying the Christmas tree.

Christmas 2025 (Part 1). Episode 1. The Poplar midwives and medics return for the first of a two-part festive special ahead of a new series next year. Fred and Violet fly out to Hong Kong to visit Derek – only to notice a large building has collapsed. Back in London, news of the disaster reaches Nonnatus house and an emergency rescue mission to Kowloon is hastily launched. But Derek warns the medics to take care, as the densely populated city is home to Triad gangs operating in the area.

Rosalind and Joyce host a Christmas gathering at Nonnatus House with their friends and medical colleagues, while Sister Catherine decides to find out what happened to Queenie’s baby.
