Bourne to Saxby Railway line

Time to restart a project, that I started back in 2014. Which was trying to take a photo of every bridge, tunnel and viaduct, that still remain on the old railway line between Bourne and Saxby.

  1. Those fab photos of the Bourne to Saxby bridges – are you going to complete the collection?? There should be about 63 Bridges! Though at least one was demolished in the Quarry. Michael

    1. I would love to complete the collection, but so many of them are on private land, with no public right of way’s close by.

      1. A-Ha! I understand. Pity! There is, however, a book: ‘Building a Railway’ which includes photos of all the Bridges when the line was built – and the actual building of them! It’s from the Lincoln Record Society, edited by Stewart Squires and Ken Hollamby. Your excellent photos shew them as they now are – which is just as important. It is quite a large book – 13″ X 9 1/2″ of 151 pages. So sorry to hear about your friend. I agree – too young – I am more than twice that age so am enjoying your zest for life! Stay safe! Michael
