M.R.Under Bridge 45. There is a footpath attached to the wall (4" planks on old rail line with stanchions.) Although it is a public footpath, this was used by Signalmen to access the M&GN Little Bytham Signal Box of the End-On Junction between the M&GNJt.Rly. and the M.Rly. Hence the bridge numberings. The final M&GN Bridge was Lound Viaduct Bridge 239 then the last Midland Railway Under-bridge No.45 and 44 followed by Bridge 43 Lattice-Steel Bridge Under Bridge over the East Coast Main Line (LNER). There were roller bearings to allow bridge movement. Michael Gamble. M&GN Circle Member.
