That’s me just got a new smart watch. I went for the Garmin Vivoactive 3 GPS Smartwatch with Contactless Payment and HR. I got it with the birthday money, that I got my Mum and Dad last week. Thanks to much! Love you both! xx
My last smart watch, which was the Garmin Vivoactive HR GPS. Did me very well indeed, had that one since Thursday 6th October 2016. Which I’ve given to my house mate Mark. What I nice lad, I am!
The new watch, will take a while to get fully use to! Right time to get off the PC and get them steps in…. Only done 632 so far, at time of writing this anyway.
That’s me now running Fedora 32, which is Linux based operating system, which I’ve not used since around 2009, when it was on version 11 (Leonidas). Since the lockdown started here in the UK. I’ve been wanting to learn new skills. So learning now to use Linux all over again is a great start!
Of course, I will still be mainly running Windows 10. I’ve installed Fedora 32 on a 64GB USB memory stick. Just want to get use to using it again! See what things, I can remember from when I last used it!
I went for the Fedora KDE Plasma Desktop spin. The default version is GNOME, which I did try once and was not a good fan of it! Maybe, I will need to get another USB memory stick and also give that a go again!
So does anyone else on here use Linux? If so what version to use? Any good software you would recommend I try out?
P.S. Yes I did this update, using Fedora 32 🙂
Loving the small LED departure board, that my friend Mark T, got me to cheer myself up! He really is a great friend, one of the best!
Right onto the broad it’s self. It does so much, real-time train information for every railway station in UK, Transport For London both bus and tube. Every bus stop in the UK! Yep, I did of course check the bus stop, just outside my house!
I would really recommand them! Want to know more? Then check out ukdepartureboards.co.uk.
Yes, I know a very boring update… But I’ve just ordered myself a new keyboard. I’ve had my current one, for 10 plus years! Even, then I was given it. So, it could be even older than that! Some of the keys, have just about stopped working, so about time, I got a new one!
I’ve gone for a Vitalitim GK01 Multiple Color Rainbow LED Backlit Mechanical Feeling USB Wired PC Gaming Keyboard, UK Layout (Black).
At long, long last, I’ve upgraded to Windows 10 Pro, from Windows 7 Pro. It was a system rebuild, since I’ve had a new SSD hard drive installed! Which now means my PC boots faster than my mobile phone does.
But of course, since it rebuild. I’ve had to reinstall everything! Got all the main software back working again. Which includes… Audacity, Firefox, GIMP, gPodder, LibreOffice, WinSCP and many more.
Next job is getting the video editing software installed, so I can start doing new vlogs again! 😛
P.S. Do check out my YouTube channel over at uk.youtube.com/gsvalentine
The desktop departure board turned up this morning! Go to say, that I am super pleased with it!
Was so easy to set-up, sure that even non tech people could do to! Just had a edit a file, to get speaking to my Wi-Fi and that was just about it!
Right, now I am got it showing my local railway station, which is of course Grantham. But you can choose any railway station in the UK. It can also show, live bus times (I checked, it even found my local stop) and of course it shows tube info also!
Who knows, maybe one day, it will also show Glasgow subway info…
Thinking of getting one for yourself? Then head over to ukdepartureboards.co.uk. You will need to be quick, they are selling out fast! And he’s not due to get back more back in stock, till November!

Got to say, I really do love my Anker wireless charger. Saves me from having to look on the floor at night for the USB cable to change my phone. But like someone at work said, it’s a bit like witchcraft. Got no idea, how it works…
Just know, that you need a Qi-Certified, 7.5W Compatible iPhone XR/XS Max/XS/X/8/8 Plus, 10W Compatible Samsung S9/S9+/S8/S8+/LG G7 for it to work…
