Sister Frances decides she needs to know more of the outside world if she is truly to understand her patients’ needs, and Cyril and Fred come to the aid of a family who have been evicted from their home – although Violet is less than happy about their acts of charity.

The Covid-19 pandemic reveals the enormity of the challenge that climate change poses, as the drop in emissions during lockdown proves far from enough to get the world back on track. She explores new measures to reduce the level of emissions further, visiting a tree plantation and learning about a machine that sucks carbon dioxide out of the air. She also explains the everyday choices that members of the public can make to reduce their environmental impact.

World’s Most Scenic River Journeys (Channel 5/HD | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Friday 30th April 2021)

A journey down the mighty Hudson river, weaving 315 miles through some of New York state’s most stunning natural landscapes, and ending at the Statue of Liberty. The trek begins at the Adirondack Mountains, where the forested slopes are covered with trees turned a thousand brilliant colours in the autumn sunshine. Bill Nighy narrates.

The programme follows the impact of Covid-19 on her campaign, and the challenges of persuading a world living through one crisis to face up to the possibility of another on the horizon. In the first programme, Greta travels through North America on her way to a UN climate conference in Chile.

One says she has gone to town with the decor after becoming newly single, another claims she decorates her house to be `liked” on social media, the third is a die-hard rainbow fan and the fourth is out to impress to her neighbours.
