Cycling Program : War on Britain’s Roads

BBC 1 HD tonight is showing a documentary using cycle helmet camera footage to give a unique insight into the unfolding tension and conflict on Britain’s roads. From everyday incidents that get out of hand between cyclists and motorists, to stories of near-death experiences and fatal collisions, the programme shows that the battle between two wheels and four has never been so intense. It shows both sides of the story, retelling dramatic incidents from both the cyclist’s and driver’s point of view. It also follows the police on bikes as they chase down errant road users and record more than three thousand offences every year from car and bike users alike. We even see a cyclist who is attempting to police the roads himself, handing out his own ‘tickets’ for anything from texting behind the wheel, to jumping a red light. A mother who lost her cyclist daughter in a fatal collision with a cement mixer tells the extraordinary story of what she did to change cycle safety on Britain’s roads.

It’s on BBC 1 HD tonight (Wednesday 5th December 2012) at 9:00pm. Freeview: 101. Freesat: 108.

Freesat to offer Channel 4’s HD Paralympic Channels

Great news again for people with Freesat. They are to offer Channel 4’s HD Paralympic Channels. They will be the only subscription free TV platform to carry all three of Channel 4′s extra live HD Paralympic channels, throughout the London 2012 Paralympics.

This follows on from Freesat carrying all 24 BBC Olympic HD channels, for the duration of the Olympic Games. Let’s just hope they are no bugs found this time and they can be recorded from the off.

Once added later this month. They will take up 150, 151 and 152 in the Freesat EPG. People will non-HD boxes will get the SD versions in the same EPG slots.

BBC Olympics HD coverage

So glad I have Freesat+ HD, means I will have 24 extra free HD channels, for the Olympics. The only down side, I can only record two channels at once. So making up my mind what to record is going to be hard work!!

Check out www.freesat.co.uk/bbc-olympics for more information.

Since the Olympics, is just over a week away. You still have time to buy yourself a Freesat HD box! Prices start at £70 for standard HD box or £165 for a Freesat+ HD box. You will of course need a working satellite dish. Check out www.freesat.co.uk/how-to/use-your-sky-dish for more information.

BBC to make 24 HD live Olympic streams

OMG! That’s great news! Just think 24 HD channels of fit lads wearing all sorts of sexy gear! From cycling skinsuits, to wetsuits, to tight running suits! So glad I have Freesat HD on my 32″ TV. Only bad thing, it can only record 2 channels at a time. Maybe it’s time to get another Freesat HD+ PVR :).

More information can be found at:-

Got Freesat? Then here is some great news :)

Great news for anyone like myself living in the UK, who’s got Freeesat. They are adding another 5 channels to their line up :).

The extra channels are Channel 5 +1 (128), 5USA (129), 5USA +1 (130), 5* (131) and 5* +1 (132).

I have no idea why people pay $ky lots and lots of money, when you can have Freeesat for nothing and it’s even got 5 free HD channels.

Rutland Water cycle

I can’t get over just how good the weather has been for the last week.  Been warm and sunny just about every day. Which is good news for me, since I am way behind on the number of miles I want to do on my bike this month. Since I was in Scotland for 1 week, only got to use my bike once that I got a flat tyre and did not have any tools in Scotland to fix it :(. By the end of the month I want to do at least 450 miles, right now I have only done 186.7, which also includes the cycle I did today. So need to do at least another 265 miles before the month is out 2 be happy with myself.

Anyways on with today’s nice cycle. I made up my mind, since it’s a great day to cycle to Ruland Water, which is not that far at all from my place, so only a short cycle. Only did 24.5 miles, but I do really like cycling to Rutland Water, it was so busy. Don’t think I have ever seen it so busy on a week day. Then I think that’s got a lot 2 do with lots of schools being off. But I got a ice-cream while there, which is one of the reasons I went :).

So other than the great cycle, not much at all 2 tell you.  Other than at long last Channel 4 HD has been added to Freesat, it can be found on channel 126. Meaning that Freesat now got 4 HD channels and all for free.  Now got BBC1 HD, BBC HD, ITV1 HD and of course Channel 4 HD. Yes I do really like my HD stuff.

Channel 4 HD coming to Freesat :)

Sorry about posting a blog about this, but it made my day when I read it on the Join Freesat website. Means from April Freesat will have 4 HD channels, all free of course. BBC 1 HD, BBC HD, ITV1 HD and now CH4 HD. Why people pay so much for $ky HD, I have no idea, when you get the best HD channel for free. Well that’s if you like like sport that is…

Freesat also got the BBC iPlayer, with the ITV player coming very soon. Does $ky have them? Mmmm think’s think NO!

Sunday – 14th February 2010

First of all happy Valentine’s Day everyone. Oh and did I get a single Valentine’s Day card of course, not!! Then that’s nothing new at all. Even when I was with my last BF I next to never got them. It would have been nice to have got at least one. Maybe next year then.

So then on to what I have been doing today, which is not that much at all really. After giving my End to End cycle website a big update last weekend. I made up my mind, to give another one of my website’s a big update. This time I updated Carmen Squillante’s website (website no longer on-line), she is a book author that I did a website for a good number of years ago. The main reason I updated the website and redid it with WordPress, is so she can now login and do updates herself.

Other than that I did not really do much at all today, other then watch four episodes of Party of Five, on CBS Drama on my Freesat+ HD box.

Thursday – 31st December 2009

Speaking about that I made it to Scotland in the end. If you watched my last vlog, you would have heard me saying I was no longer going due to the weather.

In this vlog I speak mainly about what I got for Christmas, which include the Russell Howard live dingledodies DVD, Beautiful People series 1, Depeche Mode: the best of and also a Humax Freesat+ HD box.
