Cycling from Killearn to Rowardennan

Just to think I was sure, I was not going to get any more cycling in during my time in Scotland. Well I was wrong. I found the time to cycle from Killearn to Rowardennan. Bring my total number of miles while up in Scotland to 144.21. So not to bad for just four cycles. It’s also only the second time, I have ever done this cycle. Vlog to follow soon..

I will now leave you with the route map, elevation graph, route statistics and photos.

Thornhill and Drymen loop cycle

I am well pleased, I have got out three cycles while up in Scotland. Even with all the rain and how busy I have been, seeing friends and family.

My aim was to do at least 100 miles up here. So far I have done 113.39. Can’t see me having the time to get any more cycling done. Since I am seeing a good friend tomorrow, then my Mum and Dad get back from there holiday on Wednesday. Then it’s back to England on Thursday.

I also can’t wait to get my Killearn area cycle map updated, with all the new roads I have covered, since I last updated it.

I will now leave you with the route map, elevation graph, route statistics and photos.

Vlog: Duke’s Pass & Loch Katrine cycle

Welcome to what is now my longest ever vlog. It was filmed around the Duke’s Pass & Loch Katrine. See post Duke’s Pass and Loch Katrine loop cycle (07/05/2012) for the route of the cycle. Also check out www.gordon-valentine.com/aboutme/vlog-locations/centred-around-killearn/ to see the locations I filmed this vlog.

Duke’s Pass and Loch Katrine loop cycle

So happy I have now done this cycle, it’s been on my hit list for a while. The map may make it look boring, but believe me. It’s anything but. I was hoping to get lots and lots of photos during this cycle. But the rain put a stop to that. It was raining just about all the time. I did get lots of filming done. So I will uploading a vlog to go with this cycle in the next day or so.

I will now leave you with the route map, elevation graph and route statistics. Vlog to follow…

If you have any ideas for other data you would like to see here, then let me know!

April 2012 cycling statistics

Here are my cycling statistics for April. I was hoping to do a lot more than just 404.48 mikes in April, but the wind and rain put a stop to that! I think you can let me off, since it’s been the wettest April since records began back in 1910. Read “April is the wettest month for 100 years” on the BBC News website, to show that I am not making that up!

Here is the data from April 2012:-

  • Total cycles: 17.
  • Total Distance: 404.48 miles.
  • Total Time: 32:08:52 (h:m:s).
  • Avg Speed: 12.6 mph.
  • Max Time: 5:05:44 (h:m:s).
  • Max Speed: 32.8 mph.
  • Avg Distance: 23.79 miles.
  • Max Distance: 65.46 miles.
