The Coronation Concert (BBC 1/HD | 8:00pm to 10:00pm | Sunday 7th May 2023)

Coverage of the Coronation Concert from the East Lawn of Windsor Castle, staged in front of 20,000 members of the public and invited guests. Featuring performances from Take That, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Andrea Bocelli, Bryn Terfel, Freya Ridings and a 70-piece orchestra as well as unique visual moments such as the country joining together as its most iconic landmarks are illuminated by drones and lasers in Lighting Up the Nation and Gareth Malone’s 300-voice Coronation Choir singing for the King and Queen. Kirsty Young hears from the performers in a specially built studio within the castle grounds, and backstage, Clara Amfo and Jordan Banjo grab chats with others involved.

Eurovision Welcomes The World (BBC 1/HD | 6:30pm to 7:30pm | Monday 8th May 2023)

Rylan and Sunetra Sarker kick off Eurovision with highlights from this year’s Turquoise Carpet welcome event, as the performers arrive in Liverpool. Semi-final hosts Alesha Dixon, Hannah Waddingham and Julia Sanina gear up for their presenting debut together and Rylan spends time backstage to see all of the final Eurovision preparations. The show also features highlights from Liverpool’s Big Eurovision Welcome event taking place outside St George’s Hall, presented by AJ Odudu and Joel Dommett, where Frankie Goes to Hollywood will be on stage together for the first time in more than 30 years. Ukrainian Eurovision winner Jamala duets with British artist Birdy on a Beatles classic, and there is a special performance of Rise like a Phoenix by Conchita, accompanied by a dramatic drone display. Special guests Ricky Tomlinson and Shirley Ballas pay tribute to their home city and international pop star Zara Larsson join icons of dance music Cream Classical to close the show.

Eurovision Calling: Jason and Chelcee’s Ultimate Guide (BBC 1/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Monday 8th May 2023)

Comedian Jason Manford and singer-songwriter Chelcee Grimes explore how the Eurovision Song Contest became the world’s largest live music event. Jason meets the UK’s last winner, Katrina Leskanich from Katrina and the Waves, Sam Ryder, who came second in 2022’s contest, and Mae Muller, who is representing the UK this year. Chelcee provides an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse of preparations in Liverpool, as well as revealing some little-known facts about the event itself.

Britain by Steam (Channel 5/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Tuesday 9th May 2023)

In York, Peter John and Paul head off down the river Ouse on a steam launch modeled on a luxury service vehicle from the 1980s, before stopping off at Newby Hall for a spot of lunch and to take a look around the stately home. When they later disembark in Ripon, the trio hop into a 1908 Stanley steam car to Paul’s hometown of Pickering, before racing towards Grosmont on a 9F steam train with a huge 3,500 horsepower engine.

Race Across the World (BBC 1/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Wednesday 10th May 2023) ** PICK OF THE WEEK **

The Final. Series 3, episode 8. The eight week long expedition comes to an end as the contestants race to the final check point at the most-easterly point of the North American continent. The pairs reflect on their journey so far and the ways it has changed them both physically and emotionally as they reach the finish line and find out who will be crowned winners and welcomed into the Race Across the World hall of fame.

Race Across the World (BBC 1/HD | 10:40pm to 11:40pm | Wednesday 10th May 2023)

The Reunion. Series 3, episode 9. For the first time since the end of the race, the contestants reunite to reflect on their journeys and reveal insights into their strategies. The racers compare experiences, share their highest highs and lowest lows and talk about what they learned along the way.
