Our Changing Planet (BBC 1/HD | 7:00pm to 8:00pm | Sunday 1st May 2022)

Part two of two. Three more presenters visit threatened ecoystems around the world. Liz Bonnin is in California, discovering how climate change has led to wildfires. Gordon Buchanan reports from Brazil, joining a project to save the jaguar. Ade Adepitan visits Kenya, and discovers how rising temperatures have led to droughts and limited rainfall, with severe implications for wildlife.

Grand Designs: The Street (Channel 4/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Wednesday 4th May 2022)

The property show follows animator Joanna and carpenter Ben, who are building a magnificent American ranch-style house in a gritty part of Glasgow. Like the buildings of the Wild West which inspires them, the couple’s house will be made from simple materials with a structural Douglas fir frame and clad entirely in larch with a rustic tin roof. But with a tight budget of £170,000, Joanna and Ben can only afford it if they construct it themselves. The trouble is, they have never built a house before.

Secrets of the London Underground (Yesterday | 8:00pm to 9:00pm | Thursday 5th May 2022) ** PICK OF THE WEEK & NEW SERIES **

Lighthouses: Building the Impossible (Channel 5/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Friday 6th May 2022)

Rob Bell explores the bizarre history of The Smalls, one of Britain’s most remote offshore lighthouses. Situated 20 miles off the Pembrokeshire coast, its isolated location on a reef in the Irish Sea has challenged builders, architects and keepers for over 200 years, leaving it wreathed in dark tales and mystery.

Grand Designs: The Street (Channel 4/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Wednesday 27th April 2022) ** PICK OF THE WEEK **

Kevin McCloud follows John and Julia, who are realising their 30-year dream of building an amazing house designed by architect John after years of bad luck. They have secured a plot at Graven Hill in Oxfordshire and John has designed a modernist wedge of a home for them to retire to. But as soon as they start, their run of bad luck continues – the lockdown brings construction to a halt and every month in their expensive rented house eats away at their budget – in turn threatening their vision for a comfortable retirement.

Lighthouses: Building the Impossible (Channel 5/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Friday 29th April 2022) ** NEW SERIES **

Rob Bell uncovers the secrets of one of Britain’s most heroic feats of engineering – the rock lighthouse. In this first edition, he heads to Wolf Rock, eight miles off the Cornish coast, and sees for himself why it was such a Herculean struggle to build a stone tower here 160 years ago, with the rock fully exposed to the awesome power of the North Atlantic.

Hard to believe, that I’ve still done more walking so far in 2022, than cycling! Only cycled 280 miles, but I’ve walked 423 miles! But the gap is slowly starting to close…

Where it says running… That’s my walking data!
