In a forbidden library at the heart of the Vatican, the pope urges the Doctor to read the ancient text – but can he handle the truth?

Yorkshire Wolds Way (BBC 2/HD | 8:00pm to 8:30pm | Saturday 20th May 2017)

Adventurer Paul Rose explores the 79 miles of the Yorkshire Wolds Way, arguably Britain’s least well-known national walking trail. In this edition, Paul takes to the skies to get a unique view of this stretch of chalk downland and gets a special invitation to a military base that has been keeping the country safe since the start of WWII.

The Fifteen Billion Pound Railway (BBC 2/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Monday 22nd May 2017)

This series follows more than ten thousand engineers and construction workers as they race to complete the brand new railway directly underneath the city – Crossrail, London’s new Underground. Costing fifteen billion pounds, it is the biggest engineering project in Europe. Linda Miller, an engineer more at home constructing space launch complexes, must build what will become Britain’s busiest station – Farringdon – an underground structure longer than the Shard is tall. Linda and her team battle ancient fault lines, race to build emergency access tunnels to alleviate congestion and piece together a giant geometric jigsaw that will form a cathedral-sized station entrance. The episode ends with a very special visitor arriving on site to give the railway its new title.

Britain’s Busiest Airport – Heathrow (itv/HD | 9:000pm to 10:00pm | Wednesday 24th May 2017)

Series following Heathrow Airport’s army of 76,000 staff – from plumbers to pilots to police – as they deal with 200,000 passengers a day in a never-ending race to get thousands of planes away on time. In this episode, passenger experience manager Numan has a challenge on his hands when a flight to New York is cancelled and 40 angry passengers demand to be rebooked immediately. As snow and ice threaten to close the runways, airside operations driver Hugh swings into action to drive a special runway de-icer. A team of Border Force officers and sniffer dog Ruby patiently wait at the departure gate, hoping to seize cash that could be linked to crime. Their powers of detection are tested when they have to make the seizures in just 30 minutes before the plane departs. One of the busiest departures of the week is the flight to Dhaka in Bangladesh. Customer service agents Carrie-Anne and Selina bravely step up to the plate in order to get the passengers boarded and the plane away on time.

The Truth About HIV (BBC 1/HD | 9:00pm to 10:00pm | Thursday 25th May 2017)

As trials are announced in Britain of a new preventative drug, Dr Chris van Tulleken explores the latest science around HIV, meeting health professionals, scientists, and individuals affected by the virus in the UK and South Africa, challenging the myths and stigma surrounding it.

The Last Leg (Channel 4/HD | 10:00pm to 11:05pm | Friday 26th May 2017)

The double Bafta-nominated series returns live to Friday nights for the 11th series with its unique brand of irreverent satire and sharp topical comedy.
