At
long last I went out on my bike today. I have had it
down with me in England for a while, but I have never got around
to using it. I cycled to Stamford from Little Bytham, and back
again. Oh and of course it rained when I was out, lucky it was
not too wet. |
| Sunday - 10 June
2001 |
| I have been so sad
today, all that I have mainly been doing is, getting my Gay
Glasgow site updated again. Because it has been getting so
out of date. |
| Tuesday - 12 June
2001 |
| It has just been
one of them days, where you wish you could have waking up, and
it was all just a bad dream. It's a long story I don't really want
to get into right now. It's days like today, I will what I was
up in Glasgow with friends to speak to, I am not saying that I
don't have any friends down here. I have lots of great friends
here, its just days, like today I really need to speak to friends
that I have knowing for a long time.
The best thing to happen today has always is getting to speak
to Barry my boyfriend on the phone for about 1 hour. I can't
wait to a go to Birmingham this weekend to see him. We're going
to have so much fun. I have not seen him in well over 1 week. |
| Sunday - 17 June 2001 |
| I am just back from
a fanatic weekend in Birmingham seeing my boyfriend Barry. The
only bad thing about this weekend was having to go home. |
| Thursday - 21 June 2001 |
| I am sitting on
the train has I type this. I nearly missed the train if I had been
1 min later I would not have made it. I am going up to Glasgow
for the weekend to see family, friends and also to go to Pride
Scotland in Edinburgh on Saturday. Plus do lots and lots of shopping.
Anyway back to the rest of the day. Today has not been too bad,
got a lot done at work, which is good. I was mainly working on
course manuals for IBT 2 and also updating their website which
can be found at www.peatling.co.uk. |
| Friday - 22 June 2001 |
| Today I ordered a 16 port switched
hub so that, at long last I get my entire network upgraded to 10/100.
I only got two new network cards, because the ones that I had were
only 10. I should have it all fully working by Monday if all goes
to plan.
Tonight I went a walk down with glen, with Mum and Dad. To give
us some time together to catch up a bit, will all that has been
going on in my life. Well most of it anyway. |
| Friday - 29 June 2001 |
| Payday… Yes!!!!! I can
now do lots, and lots of shopping. Well I can once I have posed
the cheque, to my bother Craig to get him to put it into the Bank
of Scotland for me. One day I will get around to getting an
English Bank account.
At long last I have I got around to getting my home village
of Killearn website
sorted out. I have just paid for 100mb of web space, which is
going to cost me £149 per year. But I think that it is
well worth the money. |
| Tuesday - 3 July 2001 |
| I found out that one of my friends
who I let use my laptop, has been going though personal files on
my hard drive and looking at them. Which is not on at all. So I
have had to change all my passwords and change all the security
on Windows 2000, to make sure that it will not happen again. I
have a lot of things on my hard drive that are for my eyes only.
At least I know who I can trust using my laptop when I am not about,
and it will not be him.
But on to the better things, yesterday I found that my boyfriends
passed this college course, and did better then he thought that
he would. So he can now go to Uni. I would like to say very,
very well done Barry. See I told you that you would do it. xoxoxox |
| Sunday - 8 July 2001 |
| I am so glad that last week is
over, and done with. I would have to say that it has been the worst
week, of the year so far.
But at least the money that I put into Killearn
on the Web website has worked out. The website has never
had so many people looking at it. I have been playing about
with all the cgi scripts on it. Because I found out that the
guestbook was not fully working. Well that's what you get when
you make something go live, before you fully test it. |
| Tuesday - 10 July 2001 |
| Today at work I had great fun.
I got to move desks, computers, telephone and network cables about.
Well it does it for me and that is the main thing.
I got "Dirty Dancing" on DVD today. I am just so sad,
but I could not find any other ones that I wanted to get. It's
also a good feel good film. Which is another reason was I got
it. |
| Wednesday - 11 July 2001 |
| That's me single again has of
tonight. At least Barry and me are going to remain friends. As
they say things can only get better. Well that is what Labour say.
Do I believe them? No. |
| Thursday - 12 July 2001 |
| I got trains tickets booked for
going up to Glasgow for a long weekend, to see friends and family.
One of my friends who I have not seen for a long time, is also
going up to Glasgow the same weekend. It will be great to get to
catch up with him too.
I have just found out that BBC
News online have a link to my Jonathan
Kerrigan website. That's so nice of them. Awwww thanks BBC. |
| Wednesday - 18 July 2001 |
| Is it just me or is the Internet
very boring these days? Ever time I go on it. I get bored now with
in about 1 hour. At one point I could say on it for hours, and
hours.
Tonight Jon and me went to the local pub to get food. The food
was great as always. |
| Thursday - 26 July 2001 |
| I have been looking forward to
this day, for a couple of weeks now. Why? I hear you ask. It's
because I am going up to Glasgow for a long weekend, it will be
fanstic to get to see friends and family again. The last couple
of weeks have not been the best for me. But has always I will get
things sorted out one-way or another.
6:35pm: God this train is going so fast, we only left Peterborough
at 6:14pm and it's now 6:35pm and that's us been though Grantham
already. I hope that GNER do
get the East Coast Main line, because I would say that they are
one of the best, if not the best train companies in the UK.
Just in case you had not worked it out, I am sitting on the
train updating my website. Oh sad I hear you say. But hey it
gives me something to do.
6:56pm Does the ticket man want my ticket? No. Sorry I am just
passing the time, by telling you all about my train joenery.
Oh I am looking watching a very cute guy on the train as I type.
He is starting to put me off what I type.
7:00pm: Don't you just love Quantum Leap that is the mp3 that
I have on now. Oh and now going though Doncaster. Now the cute
person is sitting two sits in front of me.
7:10pm: OK I am sure that you getting bored now. I can now see
lots of power stations. Just so that you all know. Time to start
watching a DVD now.
7:30pm: I am now in York. I have not been to York for a long
time. I would love to go again soon time soon.
8:45pm: That's the train in Newcastle and I have just finished
watching the DVD. I am now on to my second laptop battery, which
will keep my laptop going all the way to Glasgow.
9:15pm. I start to sing, not a good idea, when you can't sing
to save your life, and also when other people can hear you. I
am just getting into my mp3s way too much. I think it is time
to switch off my laptop, put on a CD and listen to a CD. |
| Saturday - 28 July 2001 |
| At long last I went out and got
a new bike today. So that I now have one in Scotland and one in
England. My old bike is over 6 years old, it does not look that
one. I think £199 was well spend on getting a new bike.
Once I had spent so much money I then went into Glasgow to meet
up with friends who I have not seen in a long time. |
| Sunday - 29 July 2001 |
| I went into Glasgow to seen friends
again. Barry who was up from Blackpool for the weekend went home
today. So I said good bye to him, at the train station.
Tonight I went a cycle on my new bike. I went a cycle to Queen's
view, which is round trap of 13 miles. |
| Monday - 30 July 2001 |
| I went into Glasgow to do some
shopping, met Margaret and get my haircut.
It was great to get to catch up with Margaret, I had not seen
her for about 1 year. She was the first person at college who
I told, that I was gay.
Margaret and me went around most of the good clothes shops in
Glasgow. But all the sales have started so I could not find anything
to buy. Other then a new baseball cap and Now 49.
After seeing Margaret it was back home to Killearn to get packed
for going back down to England.
By the time I get back to England, I will have done well over
8 hours of travelling today, oh what fun. |
| Saturday - 4 August 2001 |
| It has been a busy day for me.
I went a great cycle to Stamford. A round trap of 14 miles, which
I did in less then 1 hour. It's only the third time that I have
done this cycle and the 2nd time this week. Since last Monday I
have done over 50 miles on my bike, which is not too bad going.
Later in the afternoon, I helped Mark put new floorboards down
in my room. Then I removed wallpaper, so that my room can be
painted. |
| Monday - 6 August 2001 |
| Today was Phil's last day at
work. I think that I will really miss not working with him. To
think that when I first started to work with him, he drove me mad
at times. I really liked him because I could tell him anything.
He was always good to speak to when I was feeling done etc.
After work was good. Because I got to go out for a meal with
Jon, Dawn, and Mark. Which is always good fun. Well has long
has we don't end up speaking about work all the time. |
| Tuesday - 7 August 2001 |
| Been at work all day, not really
much to say about that other then at long last I am starting to
get the hang of Dreamweaver 4. Once I am a lot more sure that I
know how to use it. I think that I will start to do all my personal
websites with it. |
| Wednesday - 8 August 2001 |
| Not much at all to say today.
Other then I got to look around the new offices that my work will
be moving to soon.
Once I got back home there was not much at all to do. Because
there was nothing much at all on the box. And I could not be
borthed going out on my bike tonight. |
| Monday - 20 August 2001 |
| Today has been a great day, mainly
because it's the official start to a week's holiday up in Glasgow.
Instead of going by train to Glasgow, I went my by car. Don't
worry I have not passed my driving test, and not remembered to
tell anyone. My folks were down for the weekend. It was nice
getting to catch up with them again.
It was nice getting to stop at places that I have not been to
for a long time. See the photo gallery for some
photos. |
| Wednesday - 22 August 2001 |
| Today I went a nice cycle on
my bike. The cycle was about 13.9 miles. It's the first time that
I have been out a cycle for just over one week. Because the last
week I have not been feeling too great. I am glad to say that I
am 100% better now. |
| Thursday - 23 August 2001 |
| I can't believe that my "wee" brother
Craig is 18 tomorrow. I don't think that will be able to call him
my "wee" brother for much longer because he will be taller
then me soon.
The whole family went out of a meal together. Which is something
that we have not done for a number of years. I think that it
is something that we should do more often.
When we all got back for the nice meal. I went out a cycle on
my bike to Drymen. It is the first time that I have done that
cycle in well over a year. If you would like to see some photos
from over times that I have done this cycle, then click
here. |
| Saturday - 25 August 2001 |
| Today I cycled to Aberfoyle.
It's the first time that I have cycled there this year. Since I
last cycled there they have added some nice cycle routes. If you
know the National cycle network at all, the route is "7" just
in case you wanted to know. |
| Sunday - 26 August 2001 |
| I have just worked out that since
last Wednesday I have done over 111 miles on my bike. Yes I am
mad, my friends have been telling me that for a long time.
Today I cycled to Glasgow. I did not mean to, I was only going
to cycle to Milnagavie and back. Cycling to and from Milnagavie
is about 20 miles. Going to and from Glasgow is 34 miles in total.
Oh well you only live once. I think that I will sleep very well
tonight. |
| Monday - 27 August 2001 |
| I would say that I have really
enjoyed the last week. I have got to catch up with my mum, and
dad. See my brother Craig turn 18. And on top of that I got to
cycle over 111 miles since last Wednesday.
Anyway I am sure that I have bored you how, so back today. I
went into Glasgow to meet up with one of my best friends Jamie
that I have known for a hell of a long time. It was great to
catch up with him at last. I also had time to do some shopping.
I got 5 yes 5 DVDs and a new t-shirt.
Once I got back home, I did a lot of work to The
Gay Glasgow site, because I just noticed how out of date
it was starting to get. I also moved it to a new URL www.lgbt-glasgow.co.uk. |
| Tuesday - 28 August 2001 |
| It's 9:36pm, and I am on the
train going back down to Peterborough. Sorry I was just tying to
be like the people on Top of The Pops, did it work? No I didn't
think that it did.
Sorry I am just passing the time after watching two DVDs. My
backside is killing me from sitting in the one place for so long.
The train is now in York. I have not been to York for a long
time. I would love to go back sometime. Just in case you wanted
to know that. |
| Sunday - 2 September 2001 |
| .. And today's song is "Why
Does It Always Rain On me", by Travis. Why I hear you ask,
it's because I went out on my bike and it raining, so I got very,
very wet. |
| Wednesday - 4 September 2001 |
| I was hoping to get out on my
bike tonight. But would the good old British weather let me? No
of course not.
At least the England football game was good. England won 2-0.
Not has good as the game on Saturday. But who cares we still
won.
Once the game was over I updated my Michael Owen website, with
more photos etc. If you want to go and have a look the URL is owensite.tripod.com. |
| Thursday - 5 September 2001 |
| Today at work has been OK. I
am still sorting out the computers at work, after moving offices
last week. When I got home I went a quick cycle to the next village,
and back, 6 miles in total.
Sorry about not saying much in the last couple of days, there
has not really been much going on in my life, to tell you all
about. |
| Sunday - 9 September 2001 |
| I spend most of the day moving
The Gay Glasgow site, to a new host. To remove all the averts from
it. I forgotten how hand it is so more sites when they have lots
of cgi scripts. But I got there in the end, that's the main thing.
I think it looks one hell of a lot better now. |
| Tuesday - 11 Sepember 2001 |
| I can't believe what has just
happened in the US today. I can't believe that it is real. How
could anyone do such a thing? It is sick. My thoughts are with
the families of all those who have been injured or lost their lives
in America. |
| Friday - 14 September 2001 |
| At work I had fun getting a colour
laser and a photocopier to work on the network. I also got to do
some training which is something that I don't have to do that often.
Once I got work from work, I went a quick 6-mile cycle to the
next village of Castle Bytham and back. |
| Monday - 17 September 2001 |
| I would just like to say
well done Ian. I am glad to hear that your getting use to your
new life in Glasgow. It really cheers me up hearing how well that
you are doing. I am glad that I have played a small part in this. |
| Monday - 24 September 2001 |
| I had a whale of a time at work.
Because I got to move desks, network cables and computers
all over the place. Does that make me said sad? I think so...
I think it's starting to get to cold to wear shorts when I am
out on my bike. Has I noticed tonight when I went out on my bike.
I am going to have to buy some winter gear to wear. Because I
don't think that my body likes the cold to much. |
| Wednesday - 26 September 2001 |
| Today I heard the first Christmas
song, of the year. Thanks Jon. Sorry I am sure that you all wanted
to know that. NOT!!!!
I got my rent money sorted out today, which is a very good thing. |
| Thursday - 27 September 2001 |
| Has I am writing this, I am sitting
on the train going back to Glasgow for the weekend. At work I have
been installed Windows 2000 all day. It's good fun still it all
goes wrong. So lucky for once when I was installing it. Not much
went wrong, other they now have Windows 98, and Windows 2000 on
the small computer. Oh dear. Other then that it all went to plan.
Now back to the train. I have just watched Die Hard on DVD.
I enjoyed it, I have not seen it for a while. I only really got
it, because I could not find any other DVDs, then I wanted to
get to watch on the train. |
| Friday - 28 September 2001 |
| I went into Glasgow with Jamie,
to do some shopping, and also to go out for food. We parking in
Patrick then got the underground to Buchanan Street. We then did
a bit of window-shopping, because going to the GLC Café to
get food. The food was fantastic has always. Once we had done that
we got onto paying stuff. Well I did anyway. I got myself a new
top, and also a Robbie Williams DVD. |
| Saturday - 29 September 2001 |
| Nooooooooooo. I am 22 today.
Help I am getting so old. I am not really that bored that it's
my birthday. But of course my mum, has to wake me up like she always
does on my birthday.
I went into Glasgow, to get my haircut. But it was way to busy.
I don't think that I have seen Glasgow so busy for a long time.
So I just walked about for a while, then got the first bus that
I could back to Killearn.
Then I got already for going back into Glasgow. To meet up with
friends, to go to Del's, Polo, Bennets etc. I had a good time.
I was not too sure if I would no because I have not been out
the scene of a while. To tell the truth I was a bit scared of
going out.
I had to been to Bennets in a long time, since about 1999. I
got forgotten just now busy, and hot the place gets. But I still
had a good time. When I was out two, yes two people asked if
I was Gordon Valentine. OK one asked: "Are You Gordon Valentine?" The
other one shouted something like: "My it's Gordon Valentine".
So that was my birthday. I have to say that it's been the best
birthday that I have had in a long time. |
| Sunday - 30 September 2001 |
| Today I got the train back from
my friend's house where I was staying last night, into the centre
of Glasgow. I was hoping then to get my haircut, but the hairdressers
were closed by the time, that I got there. So I just walked around
Glasgow till it was time to get the bus back to Killearn. Oh what
a fun day. LOL. |
